Right, let's knock this on the head now. If you're calling for the security services to release details about the identities of the suspects of an ongoing terror investigation less than 24 hours after the alleged attack, you're a moron. And you have no business even pretending to be a candidate for high public office.

As someone dealing with both the social care & SEND systems, I can confirm they’re exactly as broken as every says.

The arson attack on the Prime Ministers home shows how far Russia will go to threaten the west. All the mad right wing rumours that went round were total lies. It was a Russian backed attack on our democracy. Solidarity with the Prime Minister. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

Our discourse is now so corrupt the Russian firebombing of the PM’s home, and lies about Starmer using rent boys, are ignored by "patriotic" conservatives The country is under attack and they are so lost in culture wars they cover up the threat substacktools.com/sharex/_-6…

Let's just reflect on this for a moment. For the past few months a group of people who style themselves "patriots" have been peddling propaganda on behalf of a foreign state after it sponsored a firebomb attack on our Prime Minister.

No politician, regardless of party should be subject to abuse When people normalise that and also talk about politics being broken you know they are hypocrites and part of the problem
The Chancellor of the Exchequer cannot be shielded from public rage at the deleterious effects of her policy decisions just because she is a woman.

Real change means tackling disadvantage head on. Replacing our deeply regressive council tax system is the kind of big, bold reform that would genuinely improve lives in northern towns like Hartlepool, putting more money back into the pockets of the people who need it most.

Without minimising the dire results for Labour, it’s extraordinary how chipper the Tories are. They’ve lost 500 seats from a low watermark, lost major councils to Lib Dems and Reform, show no signs of recovery in the esp LD areas they need to win.

Labour lost *every single seat* on Kirkless, where the party holds 4/5 MPs. We are seeing some of the most fragmented results in councils that combine a white working class vote with a large ethnic minority population - e.g. with Mill Towns like Kirkless/Burnley.

This isn’t altogether surprising and suggests Matt Goodwin was talking off the top of his head. The only election-loser I can recall who displays comparable gracelessness is George Galloway.

On the contrary, this war underlines the stupidity and irresponsibility of the Tory party and Farage's policy of putting Trump's interests before the interests of this country
The shortage of oil and gas from the Middle East underlines the stupidity and irresponsibility of UK energy policy which makes us so dependent on imports. When will the government encourage and permit more UK production?

Every single time. Car domination makes city centres poorer not more prosperous. The data is very consistent. You don’t necessarily need to or should ban them, but you do need to put people first in all or nearly all streets.
When in 2007 the mayor of #Ljubljana proposed to close 12 hectares of its city center to private cars, just 40% of residents approved. A decade later, no less than 97% were against reopening to motor traffic: “None of us can really imagine cars ever staging a comeback”.

Introduced in 2018 and expanded to all roads by 2020, Bilbao was the first European city of 300,000+ to adopt a universal 30 km/h speed limit. Several years on, the results suggest it has delivered broad benefits on safety, public health, travel efficiency, and quality of life.🧵

Ms Truss sadly blocked me when I expressed scepticism about her economic record but I think it reasonable to call her a deluded conspiracy theorist who is essentially anti-British.

Didn't need to be in Cabinet to know how out of her depth Braverman was as Home Sec. As Dep Chairman of Home Affairs Select Comm I saw how dysfunctional she let the Home Office become week in week out. The graceless way she now blames colleagues who covered for her is shameful
