I own 11 apartments across Manila, Bali and Dubai. All bought in cash since 2019. 7 years in, my verdict: real estate is a terrible investment, and I'd be richer and calmer if I had clicked "buy" on an index fund once in 2019. Here are the actual numbers, unit by unit.

Hard to build something while sb constantly tries to steal 70%++ from you
🇩🇪🇺🇸 Peter Thiel just pointed out a pretty brutal difference between America’s young wealthy and Germany’s. Looking at the 50 richest people in each country who are Gen X or younger, Thiel says 9 of 12 Americans made their own fortunes. Germany? All 20 inherited theirs. “Not a single person did something new, made some new money, built a large new scalable company.” Germany isn’t running out of rich people. Thiel thinks it’s running out of people getting rich by building something new. Writer: Lynn

Gud stuff
Cobie explains the mental model that turned buying stupid ape pictures into millions. "My own mental model is that you isolate your risk and you try every novel thing." "You do not try everything, because then you are chasing forks and end up in bad projects." "Instead of trying to figure out why a novel thing won't work, you may as well just give it a go. If you do this with Hyperliquid or buying the Ape pictures, you ended up a millionaire." "When there is a new thing happening, people's instinct is to say this is stupid and dumb. You just need to invert that instinct and ask, what if this worked?"

One of my favorite memes lately
“The 10Y rising is extremely bearish for crypto.” “No it’s not, do you even know what the 10Y is?” “No, do you?” “No.”

1/18 What actually happened at @Neutrl ? We know the protocol suffered a major loss involving strategy positions. Neutrl says it wasn't a hack or smart-contract exploit. Beyond that? A huge amount remains unclear.

Interesting thing here really is him admitting he was wrong There is almost no other "influencer" who would do this They would rather gaslight you that akctualllly they were not really wrong & it's your mistake thinking so Shows a lot of character 🤞
I was wrong Not going to make excuses I deserve to be dunked on

i thought more about it. beni, sorry for being a dick. i shouldn't have attacked you personally. it was cocky and unnecessary, and i should have stuck to the facts. i do want to clarify one thing: our incentives pay for liquidity, not wash trading. the claim that we’re incentivizing wash trading is incorrect, but i should have explained why instead of making it personal. this has made clear we need to do a better job explaining how our incentives work and the safeguards we have in place. we’ve laid out the full context here: news.kalshi.com/p/the-facts-…

Excellent advice
Repeat after me… Never use Wise to receive customer payments or to hold your money. They are not a bank in the traditional sense where your money should live. Wise freezes accounts algorithmically. No branch, no relationship manager, no one to escalate to. You find out when the money stops moving. Use them for the one thing they are genuinely excellent at: moving your own money between currencies at a real rate. Receive revenue into a real bank. Hold reserves in a real bank. Use Wise as the rails, never the vault.

So simple yet so few people have the balls to do it. Will never understand how one can have a location independent job and then say: "yes, let's stay here and pay 50%++ of all I make til I die in order to stay out of a cage"
Its been over 10 years now But I still cannot believe that you can get on a plane, move to a 0% tax haven, keep it all, lose a Gov that actively hates you and see this every morning Its Wild

quite insane we have TWO big predication markets that are both terrible. The simple strategy to win this race would be: Be less terrible than the other one and don't do any big fuckups None of the two is capable of doing just this. quite amazing ngl @Polymarket @Kalshi

Don’t drink a daily OJ, please 🙏 A glass has 12-18g fructose equivalents, a most dangerous type of sugar that promotes: * Liver lipogenesis and fatty liver * Higher triglycerides and VLDL * Hepatic insulin resistance * Uric-acid production * Visceral-fat accumulation
i genuinely can’t believe people drink straight up orange juice (often times the concentrate stuff) in the morning. it’s just a massive hit of liquid sugar with none of the fiber, barely any satiety, & very little upside versus simply eating an orange.

🧐 Backpack finally moving a bit. Every cycle has had dedicated new exchanges that did extremely well. BP is my pick for this narrative this cycle and I wrote in detail about it in the post that is linked. I think this has a lot of potential but you should've obviously bot this when we were correcting and not now so far i got decent amount of signups and close to zero trading volume. They havent adjusted my refshare down yet so I still handover the full 35% to sign ups but this will change probably soon due to me not hitting volume treshholds. Completely fine btw. If you want to help me just sign up with my link even if you have zero intend to use the exchange for the time being! good luck
In 2017 I held 100+ coins. Last cycle, a couple dozen. This cycle I'm capping myself at 10 positions total — and I just made my first small-cap allocation. It's not an AI coin or an L2. It's an exchange trading at roughly 1/100th of Binance's valuation. Backpack 🎒 The backstory: FTX wiped out ~88% of Armani Ferrante's operating capital. Instead of walking away, he built the exchange FTX should have been — compliant first, everything else second. The license stack is what got my attention: VARA (Dubai) + MiCA/MiFID II/PSD2 (all 27 EU states) + Japan JVCEA. Most competitors, including Binance in the EU, can't match that today. What's actually different from every other CEX: 1. Your USD collateral earns t-bill yield (3%+, up to ~6.6% at VIP) while you trade against it 2. Free bank wires in your own name. I tested it — sent $175 to Manila, exactly $175 arrived 3. Stake BP for the right to convert tokens into real equity at IPO. Zero VC allocation at launch, 60%+ of supply already staked. Team gets nothing unless the company actually IPOs 4. Real stock trading — actual shares with dividends. Buy TSLA on a Sunday morning, transfer it to your IBKR account later 5. Fees on par with Binance/Bybit, magnitudes cheaper than Coinbase Valuation: under $600M FDV. Binance and Hyperliquid sit at $60B +. Even reaching Cryptocom's ~$6B would be a 10x. Now the honest downsides, because there always are some: - Only 11 US states. No UK, Germany, Australia or Singapore licenses yet - Thin coin selection, short track record - The hyper-compliance creates real friction. I couldn't buy or stake BP from my Dubai residency — had to switch to Manila first. That friction will exist in a lot of countries My plan: ~2.5% of my crypto allocation, DCA through year-end. I'm about 10% filled and buying the dips. Full transparency: I'm an affiliate and I hold BP plus 5 figures of USD earning yield there. For the first 2 months I'm passing 100% of my cashback to signups — I make exactly zero. Link is in the first reply. BP isn't listed on a single tier-1 exchange yet. Nobody cares about new exchanges in this market. Historically that's exactly when you want to be looking. What's the bear case? Genuinely want to hear why I'm wrong.

This thread is 100% gonna blow up and I am gonna look like a salty c****again but @icobeast pissed me off so now it's gonna get ugly Kalshi fakes their crypto volume and I can prove it NOTHING pisses me off more than watching a company treat its own customers like complete fucking idiots Grab some popcorn cause I dissected every piece of evidence one by one until there’s basically no way for him to respond without making this look even worse Oh and FYI, I left every source at the end so y’all can check the receipts yourselves 😘 1/x

Big if true
Scammers found a way to make people drain their own wallets without sending them a phishing link. They uploaded YouTube tutorials showing people how to build an AI crypto trading bot with Claude. People followed the tutorial themselves. Copied the code. Deployed the smart contract themselves. Funded it from their own wallets. And approved every transaction themselves. Except the “trading bot” had no trading logic. It was built to send their ETH straight to the scammers. 224 wallets lost 274.6 ETH, worth about $517,000 when it was stolen. The median victim lost 1 ETH. Some victims even got an error after getting drained telling them to deposit another 50% to fix the bot. They literally got people to build, fund and approve their own wallet drainer. You've got to be very careful this days
