good lord, a plane full of people yapping on facetime would be the end of aviation, please make this a federal crime
So. Im on a United flight. It has Starlink. I told my wife it had Starlink. She facetimed me so I could say goodnight to my son (he’s a toddler). It worked perfectly. Like crystal clear. Cabin crew IMMEDIATELY told me I couldnt be on the phone during the flight and asked me to hang up.
I said “It’s via Starlink?” - they said no sorry. I hung up, without question.

@bendreyfuss lmao i'm poking around my soulcycle profile (lol the denver one closed cuz no one went there, myself included) and literally today is 10 years since my first class ever, your bday class!
if you've ever used ai for literally anything — including reading a google ai summary at the top of the page, which is 100% of us — donate to wikipedia. they need your money more than that trillionaire who owns this hellsite or the deca- and centibillionaires who own the others
The holidays are for relaxing, spending good time with people you love, and over-eating to previously thought unimaginable levels
it's funny seeing this comment in the year of our lord 2025 because 1. no one has said this since 2013 and 2. it's even less relevant now because ai has usurped those jobs anyway and made "learning to code" irrelevant. a thing of beauty, a relic of a distant, equally dumb past
completely irrelevant but mildly amusing fact i just learned: @weatherchannel, for some reason, owns bonk dot com (?????)
