Well this is awkward: "The surname "Farage" originates from a distant Huguenot ancestor. Genealogical findings show his lineage traces back to Georgius Ferauge, born in 1681 in Fumay, France, near the modern-day Belgian border. This ancestor emigrated to Berkshire, England, in the early 1700s, and the surname gradually anglicized from Ferauge to Ferridge and finally Farage".
