Congratulations to us on our 17th year and counting. Grateful and humbled! #WeddingAnniversary
During the Niger Delta Blue Economy Investment Summit this week, I moderated a panel that sounded a cautionary note: justice for the environment, coastal communities, & future generations need not be sacrificed on the altar of economic gains from the ocean. #blueeconomy
The push for a just energy transition in Nigeria is on but it appears that sub-nationals are last to get the memo. States appear unprepared to deal with the reality of the #energytransition, fiscally, economically, and socially. #JustEnergyTransition
#Subnationals
This is shown by a dearth of future-proof fiscal practices, poor economic diversification, weak investment in climate-resilience & RE, & low engagement with climate and energy transition policy discourses by subnational actors & institutions. #JustEnergyTransition
#Subnationals
Glad to be part of this charge by @PolicyAlert and partners @NRGInstitute @BudgITng + others to drive transition readiness in Nigeria at the subnational level. #JustEnergyTransition #Subnationals

Enjoying time resting after 10 hectic years as President of the @AfDB_Group. I am so proud of the transformational impacts of our High5s across Africa and globally. Now, I have embarked on 5Rs: Rest. Recover. Refresh. Recalibrate. Relaunch. I will be back, soon!💕

Very useful discussions with Directors at the Min of Environment in @aksgovt last Thursday. Commendable efforts to get it right on environmental compliance by companies, but a lot more yet to be done! @FairFinanceInt @cislacnigeria @oxfaminnigeria
Many thanks all for your kind wishes on our 15th wedding anniversary celebration yesterday. We feel loved and appreciated!

- "The work we do as CSOs actually support government and they know it. But to what extent do they understand the role that we play? How can we improve the level to which State actors appreciate the role CSOs play? We must be interested in this.
- Rather than facilitate the role the CSOs play in the society, some regulations potentially strangulate the operations of the CSOs thus shrinking the civic space.
- While we look forward to a community of practice (CoP) that can deliver on its mandate, the CSOs must understand that he that goes to equity must go with clean hands. You can't ask the government to do the right thing, yet you do not comply with the regulations.
- The CoP must wake up and self-regulate else while advocating for the people, you will speak with shaky voice so that your books will not be opened"
