We checked out of an Airbnb last month and left my phone charger plugged in behind the bed.
Didn't even notice until 2 weeks later when I was looking for it.
Texted the host: "Did you see a black charger?"
She replied: "Oh, THAT charger? My kids adopted it. They named him Mr. Power. He charges 3 tablets every night at 8pm sharp, it's part of their bedtime routine now."
She sent a photo. My dusty $10 charger on a little shelf with a sticker that says "MR POWER - DO NOT TOUCH"
I told her Mr. Power found his forever home. Keep him.
I bought a new one. Doesn't hit the same.

Yes, I’ve been pretty open that I’m not from here. Moved here in 2010 to cover the Orioles for MLB

The woman behind me at the grocery checkout tapped my shoulder and said, “Would you mind letting me go ahead? I only have two things.”
I looked at her basket.
She actually had two things.
I had a full cart.
So I stepped aside.
Then the cashier looked at me and said, “Ma'am, you're paying for her items too, right?”
I stared at the woman.
“I’m sorry, what?”
The woman looked just as confused.
“I thought she said it was okay.”
“I said you could go ahead of me.”
The cashier pointed at the screen.
