💜 Exciting news! With support from @GirlsFirstFund, we are launching 1️⃣0️⃣ Safe Space Circles to empower 300 adolescent girls to know their rights, find their voices, and lead change in their communities. Because girls can lead the movement to #EndFGM and child marriage! 🧡

What does it mean to truly arrive? ✊🏾🌍 At #AFF2026, African feminists gathered in Windhoek to reflect on 20 years of the Feminist Charter, interrogate power, challenge whose tables we sit at—and imagine the feminist futures we want to build. We arrived. We gathered. We connected. And now, we organise. Read Julie Okiro’s reflections from the African Feminist Forum 2026 👇🏾 Read here: femnet.org/2026/09/hasego-we… #TransformativeWomenLeadership #WomenLeadAfrica

Teach children that they should ask before touching someone else’s things, entering their space, or taking what belongs to them, even when it’s their sibling. We need to stop raising entitled kids who think access to someone automatically comes with familiarity or family ties.

Just a word of advice: before using any app to update your contacts to the new numbering plan, check its privacy policy. Make sure you understand how your contacts and personal data will be collected, used, stored, and protected. Better safe than sorry.

One thing I have learned in my advocacy journey is to always be very wary of people who center themselves in movements. Always wanting to be at the forefront, always bringing focus on themselves & not whatever they are advocating for. There is always an egotistical motive behind

Survivors of sexual violence deserve protection, courage, and support, not suspicion or shame.

This shifts attention away from accountability and places the burden on those who have already been harmed. As a community, we must do better by listening with compassion, avoid blame and judgement, create safe spaces for survivors to speak, and hold perpetrators accountable.

In The Gambia, when survivors come forward with their stories, they are too often met with interrogation instead of support. Their character is questioned, their choices are scrutinised, and their pain is doubted.

Offering a gross salary of only D7,000 and net salary of D6,200 for a sales manager position at a company that generates hundreds of thousands in monthly revenue. Even the public sector isn’t that wicked. This country is a joke.

This “tu n’est pas la cible” has become a problem in all sectors of Senegalese society and people take some dark pleasure in having access to things the ‘poor’ don’t, in an attempt delude themselves into thinking they are part of the so called elites. We are our own worst enemies

Development is not spending money on things only the 1% can access, it’s elevating the standard of living for the WHOLE population. A ‘5 star’ hospital is not a flex in a country where healthcare is still inaccessible to many and public hospitals are so underfunded & understaffed
