In pre-Islamic Arabic poetry, shedding tears in the desert at the memory of a beloved is a standard trope. Goethe was well aware of this trope and indeed invoked it in his poem.

🇾🇪 Ansarallah's governor of Taiz has issued an open letter urging Saudi-backed fighters trapped in the encircled city to accept an amnesty and go home.
"Your blood is protected, your honor preserved, and your property respected," wrote Ahmad Amin al-Musawa, the Sanaa-appointed acting governor, according to the Yemen Press Agency. "Return to your families, villages, and cities."
The letter is the latest of several offers from Sanaa to the forces holding Taiz's last three government-controlled districts:
➤ Oct. 4: Mahdi al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, confirmed a presidential pardon still covers anyone who leaves Saudi-backed forces.
➤ Oct. 15: Al-Musawa offered fighters safe passage out along the al-Turba road to Aden, with their vehicles and personal weapons.
➤ Oct. 16: Ansarallah forces issued what they called a "final warning" to leave the city.
Ansarallah now controls every entry point to Taiz, a city of more than 1 million people. Fighting and road closures have cut aid to about 800,000 people, the World Food Programme said.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ansarallah (Houthis), which appointed the referenced Taiz governor, are designated a US Foreign Terrorist Organization. Taiz city remains under Yemen's internationally recognized government with local popular resistance fighters resisting a Houthi siege.

Drop Site has now become a mouthpiece for Houthi aggression against civilians in Yemen.
Imagine reporting on Gaza by calling Palestinians defending their city “Iran-backed fighters trapped in an encircled city,” while presenting Israeli demands for surrender as generous offers of amnesty.
Would you call that journalism?
Drop Site built its reputation by exposing Israel’s crimes in Gaza. Yet when it comes to Yemen, you suddenly adopt the language of the aggressor.
The Houthis have besieged Taiz for years, shelled civilian neighborhoods, fired missiles and artillery, and terrorized its population. They are trying to force the people of Taiz into submission.
How is this different from the tactics you condemn in Gaza?
You cannot condemn Israel for besieging and bombing Palestinians while presenting the Houthis as peaceful people offering amnesty.
You have been given opportunities to hear the other side, yet you continue to give the Houthis a platform without seriously challenging their claims.
This is not journalism. This is propaganda dressed as journalism.

Many central Asian people have recently started raising their voices against Arabian people
But I will say this, God is great and if I ever get to opportunity to buy land in Kazakhstan I will make sure to bring Syrians Arabs to Kazakhstan because Central Asia belongs to Arab people
Central Asia is historically part of Saudi Arabia and part of Arab history and it is only right that Arab people migrate there
Arabians are more native to Kazakhstan than the modern Kazakh population who are Mongolian colonisers, majority of Kazakh tribes are Mongolian and not Turkish
There are many Arab settlements and many Arab place names in Kazakhstan, Arabians settled in Kazakhstan much earlier and actually build majority of infrastructure in Kazakhstan which is used by the local people
