Sad to see every piece of art and literature reduced to fodder for the culture war. All the replies under this tweet are from know-nothings who have searched Carson’s name to fight with strangers. Mostly astroturfing bots. We deserve better. Art is bigger than politics.
A lot of ppl dismissing Anne Carson today who first heard of her yesterday. Quite boring to proclaim her worth, without having even the slightest curiosity about why she is so revered. Treated as a “creature of academia” on one hand, Rupi Kaur on the other? Laughable.
A titan.

Thursday have never been interested in easy answers. Across every era, from Full Collapse to A City by the Light Divided to No Devolución, they’ve embraced contradiction: vulnerability and fury, idealism and disillusionment, collapse and renewal shorturl.at/NsWD4

By 2006 @thursdayband was already ingrained in my DNA, one of the two bands that showed me the way - as a human and as a music person.
Any movement in followed like my grandfather followed the new York Giants..

🌳 On this fine Thursday morning, we are SO excited to announce that the legendary @thursdayband are finally coming to 2000trees this summer!! They're one of the most requested bands of recent years... and yes, they’re playing on Thursday.
Obviously.
Though I do resent that the current algorithm uses the “for you” feed primarily to show you the people who are subtweeting(which everyone knows is snitch behavior, let people hate in peace)… It’s beautiful that anyone has opinions on this band—one way or another—28 years later.
Thanks for the time and attention over the years. Whether you like the band or not, we hope you’re treating each other with kindness when discussing taste and music. Can’t wait to see you on tour soon!
