The research is irrefutable: housing first - access to affordable, stable housing and supportive services - is the most effective approach to ending homelessness. #HousingFirst #JohnsonVGrantsPass #HomelessnessIsSolvable #HousingNotHandcuffs

Great event put on today by the @AZMultihousing briefing its membership, often @ThresholdAZ partners, on the current local and national economic and housing markets. This final panel on the reality of AZ’s water resources has been incredibly insightful. Thank you to the experts!

Our @ThresholdAZ results show what happens when leaders invest in what works at scale. What we're doing isn't new or remarkable - we just have the resources to do it well. Now we need new sustainable local investment to house even more Arizonans. axios.com/local/phoenix/2023…

We're proud to celebrate the progress @ThresholdAZ has made in its 1st year! Since this ARPA-funded program launched 1 year ago, available housing units offered by Threshold for those experiencing homelessness increased by 817%. Here's a look back at the start of the program:
1 year ago, along with @hominc, we launched Threshold - the first-ever centralized network of resources and support in @maricopacounty that brings together property owners and managers, community leaders, and service providers as partners in solving the homelessness crisis.

“The federal tax program does not produce an adequate number of units to keep up with demand, so many states around the country decided to institute a state housing tax." It's the State Tax Credit Program that made this project a reality! cronkitenews.azpbs.org/2023/…

“I’m not saying we need to build 14,000 units, but I am saying we need to strike the balance and help build up affordability,” she said. “We are trying to do our part to ensure residents have the opportunity to continue to live and work in our community.”
"The Glendale City Council unanimously supported a change that will waive community development fees for projects that are awarded tax credits through the Arizona Department of Housing." Way to go @GlendaleAZ! azcentral.com/story/news/loc…

The AMA is proud to partner with @ThresholdAZ. We ask our rental housing owners to share the responsibility to reduce homelessness. We ask every owner to take one resident through the Threshold program

Our partnership with @AZMultihousing has been instrumental in the success of our efforts. We co-manage an Advisory Council for @ThresholdAZ, and their introductions and encouragement of their members and peers has opened many doors for our housing programs and participants!

Quick note on that: We see the same in Phoenix with @hominc and @ThresholdAZ. However, we need to rely less on client motivation and lean more into housing search assistance from case managers and a full slate of resources and support for property owners and managers

That's why we leveled the playing field in our region with @ThresholdAZ - all eligible homeless programs - RRH, SSVF, PSH - all have access to the benefits.

Right now, ADOH is hosting a roundtable to explain how new tenant-based rental assistance programs available for special populations in our revised QAP can improve LIHTC scores. Today we're also introducing @ThresholdAZ, a newly-launched network of resources for LIHTC applicants.
