A second friend has now lost an elderly relative to cancer but because they tested positive for Covid that was on the death certificate. I genuinely don’t understand why. #coronavirus – at Poplar, London

Every one of 1,600 deaths per day is tragic, but I don’t recall locking citizens up, ruining viable firms, destroying millions jobs & daily press conferences to protect us from unknown causes of cancer....

It seems pretty clear that Whitty and Vallance are deliberately using inaccurate and outdated estimates to scare people. Question is whether govt is accomplice or dupe. telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11…

The PM suggests we could soon be in a situation where doctors and nurses would have to decide who to treat. The truth is Government made this decision back in March, when non-Covid patients had their operations and treatments cancelled. And it's happening again.

I'd drop all this "save Christmas" nonsense. It's a pandemic. It'll "recede" as long as we're in lockdown; lift it and it'll return. If you're sold on lockdowns, you're saying goodbye to Christmas (which will be distanced, masked, police-patrolled misery anyway).

It is difficult to think of a worse time to announce lockdown 2.0 than the same weekend the furlough scheme comes to an end (replaced by the Job Support Scheme). What message does this send to the employer who was already concerned her staffing structure was no longer viable?

Even World Health Organisation have confirmed that national lockdowns don’t work and shouldn’t be used as primary solution.

Told Boris Johnson is furious that details of the imminent lockdown were leaked from yesterday’s meeting to Sky/Times/Mail, and has ordered a leak inquiry. No10 insist they didn’t brief it and that whoever is responsible has damaged trust in the middle of a public health crisis👀

Imagine if we’d been told mid-March this year that come October, we’d be banned from buying birthday cards, banned from visiting our relatives, banned from going to the pub, and forced to wear masks almost everywhere. Our rights have been salami sliced away. We’re boiling frogs.

Unless something changes, I can see riots at Christmas. Unfortunately, the only things changing are the rules getting stupider and the enforcement getting harsher.

'You want to let the virus rip' sneer Hancock & Johnson at anyone who backs a different approach:How dare they? They've let cancer rip. They've let heart disease rip. They've let misery rip through thousands of lives, wrecked funerals, couples kept apart, educations destroyed.

World Health Organisation’s COVID envoy appeals to governments NOT to use lockdowns to control the virus. This sledgehammer only makes the poor poorer. Are you listening @BorisJohnson ?
WATCH: Dr David Nabarro, the WHO's Special Envoy on Covid-19, tells Andrew Neil: 'We really do appeal to all world leaders: stop using lockdown as your primary control method'. Watch the full interview here: youtu.be/x8oH7cBxgwE?t=915 #SpectatorTV @afneil | @davidnabarro

Grotesque, unconscionable, cruel and unbelievable. These are the horrible things people do when they think they are doing good. I really do not know why we put up with this. Where is the Opposition? Where is Parliament? Where are the BBC? Where are the courts?
