This isn't right. Rafi fought with us, we cannot abandon him now.
Breaking: A former frontline Afghan interpreter for British forces who suffered life-changing injuries after being blown up in Helmand by a Taliban bomb has been denied compensation because of a paperwork error. MoD officials refused to look at his appeal because he sent a council tax bill rather than a utility bill. thetimes.com/article/20355c9…

I’m in Edinburgh and being asked a lot of questions about ITV’s Reform expose.
The reported comments show yet again why we’re not doing deals with Reform. We want Reform voters back, not Reform politicians.
Reform voters are being let down by the people who claim to represent them. Many of these people were the ones who let them down in the Conservative Party. We are now under new management.
These people caused a lot of problems and is why I say Nigel Farage has been doing my spring cleaning.
These problems will keep coming for Reform. Just as Farage is being investigated, so is Robert Jenrick, and so is Richard Tice. These problems will never end because of the kind of people they are - they don’t care about high standards of conduct.
That is why I am showing those voters who want to defeat Labour but left the Conservative Party that it’s time to come home. We are under new management, and you deserve better than this.

“Robbing our pensioners”
Lee, do you not understand how the state pension works?
Removing the triple lock (which Burnham isn’t even doing) would still see pensions increase. Your pension isn’t sat in Whitehall, in a pot, with your name on it. It’s a benefit - paid by workers.

Conservatives should favour controlling public spending.
And it isn’t true that Labour is “cutting pensions” (just not increasing pensions quite so much).
There’s plenty to criticise in Burnham’s agenda, but the triple lock reform is sensible. This is a poor response.
Andy Burnham wants to scrap the triple lock.

Labour are not cutting pensions, they are reforming the triple lock. Pensions will still rise every year, either at 2.5% or in line with inflation. Whichever is higher. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Replying to @KemiBadenoch
@KemiBadenoch got a fair bit of criticism for rejecting any idea of a deal or pact with Farage. Her judgement has been completely vindicated.

Have you never read the Ministerial Code?
Are you not aware that ministers have to recuse themselves from decisions that would directly benefit themselves or their constituencies?
Also I spent most of my time as Home Secretary clearing up the mess you left.
You were Home Secretary after me.
If you were so opposed to Wethersfield, you could have shut it down.
Why didn’t you do that?

Let's set aside the fact it's not that long ago Zia Yusuf and his colleagues were demanding everyone moderate their rhetoric. Ben Wallace was an officer in the Scots Guards. He served in Northern Ireland, where he was Mentioned In Dispatches. Just the latest example of how Reform's senior leadership are completely losing control.
Incredible that this moron was Defence Secretary.
Our policy today is in direct response to your government’s failures.
If their home countries won’t take back, their citizens that are languishing in our jails, we are renting spaces in countries like El Salvador to put them.
They will serve their full jail terms there, and will be banned from ever coming back to Britain.
They may well include some of the thousands of Afghans you imported, including those who had not been vetted properly and including Taliban fighters (!).
You know, the ones you took a super injunction out to keep secret from the British people?
That’s why I call you a traitor to Britain.
You fit the dictionary definition @BenWallace70

"To Andy Burnham, first of all, first piece of advice: running the United Kingdom is not the same as running Manchester. You need to understand that.
Second piece of advice: given his background, you need to get yourself up and running and understanding national security, defence, and foreign policy issues very quickly."

So it's OK to criticise The Times over its coverage of Nigel Farage, but not OK to criticise The Daily Mail for describing judges as 'Enemies of the People'?

A growing chorus of Conservative MPs are urging Kemi Badenoch to do a deal with Reform before the next general election, The Telegraph can reveal.
