I'll be the first to admit I'm mediocre at exploit development, but I am in contact with enough extremely talented exploit developers to say this for certain:
Anyone claiming they were "easily" able to generate a working php2shell exploit with AI is either:
a) a world-class exploit developer with an extreme case of imposter syndrome.
b) currently looking at some very confident-sounding but wrong LLM output.
I'm rather certain it's the latter based on the number of AI-hallucinated exploits I've seen posted on GitHub. Threat actors are also blasting my honeypot network with "php2shell" exploits that not only don't work, but aren't even within 10,000 miles of anything to do with how the exploit actually works.
I've seen the same technique from the attached image in multiple alleged "php2shell exploits", including one on GitHub with over 100 stars. Problem is, it's not php2shell, nor is it even a vulnerability at all. It's a technique known as "session poisoning", which can be leveraged to exploit local file inclusion (LFI) vulnerabilities in PHP apps (not PHP itself).
The only thing it has in common with CVE-2026-109618/CVE-2026-109619 is they both use the "PHP_SESSION_UPLOAD_PROGRESS" feature. And mitigation advice for both issues reference setting "session.upload_progress.enabled" to "Off".
People are shoving loose details of the vulnerability into LLMs, the LLMs are keying in on the "PHP_SESSION_UPLOAD_PROGRESS" string, then generating session poisoning code that has nothing to do with the actual CVE. And because the people doing this have absolutely no idea what they're doing, they're confident enough to post their "proof of concept exploit" to GitHub and share it on social media.
So if you see people talking about "session poisoning + LFI" it's likely their LLM hallucinated an exploit based on a 2018 blog by Orange Tsai talking about a local file inclusion attack vector.
What's even worse is that "security researchers" are then using LLMs to triage these exploitation attempts, falling victim to the same hallucinations, then confirming there is ongoing mass-exploitation (there currently isn't).
The actual real exploit is very difficult to exploit, and so far I've not seen anyone successfully get it working on more than a handful of PHP version with highly-specific configurations.
LLMs are useful tools in the hands of skilled professionals, but for others, they're often just a Dunning-Kruger accelerator.

Eby put forward the reason for the election, plus how he’ll grow the economy and protect health care and education.
Doerksen was nervous and a bit random; Lowan unserious.
Today I found out running a Canadian Government Cyber Security program at the Provincial/Territorial level is called being a black hat script kiddie.
Replying to @skipmiller87
Lol ok if u think so. Thomas is a black hat still hacking right now ... he's a script kiddy at best 👌

I understand that my personal information, including my home address, was shared publicly on a screen at a recent Alberta separatist event. It was also recorded on video, and is now circulating.
This was apparently part of the outrageous data leak of Albertans’ private information, wherein Elections Alberta shared its entire detailed provincial voter database with the “Republican Party of Alberta,” which in turn shared it with some separatist group called the “Centurion Project,” whose leadership then shared my personal information publicly.
Over the past few years I have received no shortage of threats from people broadly associated with the separatist / antivax / far right movement in Alberta. So it is disturbing that my personal information is now broadly available, particularly in those circles.
While I have been targeted specifically, the broader data breach may also effect vulnerable Albertans, including victims of domestic violence, journalists, activists, judges, and other public servants for years to come.
I will retain legal counsel to seek advice on recourse regarding this outrageous and potentially dangerous violation of my personal privacy.
🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages.
The latest axios@1.14.1 now pulls in plain-crypto-js@4.2.1, a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise.
This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now.
Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that:
• Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime
• Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis
• Executes decoded shell commands
• Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories
• Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence
If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.
Not because X, but because of Y.

we got an ~RCE on M365 Copilot by sending an email
by ~RCE I mean full remote control over
its actions - search for sensitive content (sharepoint, email, calendar, teams), execute plugins
and outputs - bypass DLP controls, manipulate references, social engineer its users on our behalf

(1/3) Maybe the right words will come eventually. Maybe once the dust settles, and the rain falls, and we have an accurate assessment of the damage, maybe then we’ll be able to fully express our sadness about Jasper’s recent tragedy and our gratitude to the heroes who’ve been
As someone who spent many summers as a kid - and as an adult explored much of the back country, there are no words to describe this.
My heart goes out to everyone impacted. Thank you to the first responders that still work tirelessly to save as much as they can.
