🚨 FORMER POLICE GENERAL ARRESTED 🚨
A 56-year-old former police general has been arrested in Centurion for allegedly possessing more than 100 rounds of SAPS-issued ammunition, including R5 and 9mm rounds.
According to SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the arrest followed a search conducted by the National Cold Case Unit on 6 July 2026.
Investigators also seized documents and electronic devices believed to be linked to the murder investigation of Lieutenant-General Sindile Mfazi.
The former officer, who left SAPS in 2009, is expected to appear in Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.

Three suspects aged 21, 24 and 25 have been arrested after Gauteng Organised Crime Investigations uncovered a suspected Mandrax drug laboratory in Meadowlands, Zone 10, in Soweto.
Police are currently at the scene as investigations into the suspected drug-manufacturing operation continue.
The arrests follow the discovery of the suspected laboratory, although authorities have yet to release further details about the operation or the materials allegedly found at the premises.
The investigation remains ongoing, with further information expected from the South African Police Service (SAPS) as more details emerge. @silver_sibiya

Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya is back in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court today as his formal bail application continues.
The State is relying on translated transcripts and audio recordings as it presents its case. Sibiya faces charges including rape, sexual grooming of a 16-year-old, human trafficking and a firearm-related offence.
Sibiya denies all the allegations against him. The court proceedings are continuing as arguments and evidence relating to his bail application are considered.
