Those words from Prime Minister Mark Carney have stayed with me.
I find it deeply disappointing to hear our country’s highest elected leader speak that way about a democratic referendum.
For decades, Albertans have been asking for meaningful changes to our relationship with Ottawa. And today, we have an opportunity to make our voices heard on one of the most significant questions in our province’s history.
I believe Albertans deserve to be heard, to be respected, and to have a genuine seat at the table when decisions about our future are being made.
What Ottawa chooses to do with the outcome remains to be seen.
And perhaps, someday, Albertans will decide it’s time to build a table of our own.
Whatever your convictions, please take the time to understand the question and cast your ballot today. I’ll be voting yes to the nine and Option 2!!

This video is currently all over social media. Many are expressing sorrow for this woman and sadness at her outrage. My take on it is different. The look you see on her face is not outrage…it’s realisation. It is the look of a white, liberal lefty woman suddenly realising that her entire worldview is/was totally wrong. That what she had spent her life arrogantly portraying as her higher morality and understanding was in fact “suicidal empathy” as described by @GadSaad and that empathy was going to destroy her entire society.

Most Canadians have never heard of the Interim Federal Health Program.
They’re paying for it.
It covers asylum claimants who don’t qualify for provincial health care. Doctors and hospitals, plus prescriptions, dental, vision and mental health counselling.
It cost $74 million in 2016. For 2024-25, Ottawa set aside $790 million.
Hotel rooms for claimants have cost another $1.1 billion since 2017.
And the CBSA says over 30,000 people are in line to be removed.
The bill keeps growing. So does the line.

💥MAJOR BREAKING: Ottawa scrapped the only rule that required employers to hire Canadians first.
Buried in paragraph two of an IRCC release, employers no longer have to advertise a job, prove no qualified Canadian applied, or pay $1,000 for an LMIA — for a high-wage job offer to count toward permanent residence.
The Labour Market test is gone from the PR route, and verification moves out of ESDC, whose mandate is protecting Canadian workers, and into IRCC, whose mandate is selecting immigrants.

Albertans: you have absolutely nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain by voting for Option 2. Doing so doesn't mean you have given up on Canada, it merely means you reserve the right to make that decision in the future and to put Ottawa on notice today. Ignore the fear-mongering from faux conservatives like Mandate King Jason Kenny and his mentor, Mark Carney.
A MESSAGE FOR ALBERTANS
This is the most important week of your life to date.
You have the opportunity to choose a new and prosperous future for yourself and your family.
You can choose to completely eliminate every federal tax and regulation including everything from federal income tax to silly rules about plastic straws.
You can vote to completely eliminate an entire level of government and an entire level of crooked politicians. Politicians who only care about themselves and their ability to fly on private jets eating “luxury butter” while the groceries in your cart become fewer and fewer because your wages can’t keep up to the inflation they caused printing money to pay for their corruption.
You can end the value of your labour being diminished by Alberta being flooded with foreign “minimum wage” workers taking jobs from your children while making rent and housing unaffordable.
You can vote to keep every dollar created and earned in Alberta in Alberta without a corrupt globalist “Prime Minister” allocating your money to a company called Brookfield that pays him dividends into an offshore account in US dollars.
You can vote for an end to Ottawa’s arbitrary interference in our economy and your way of life. You can end Ottawa vetoing or canceling pipelines. You can end taxes that they idiotically claim can change the weather.
You can vote to end the misguided policies that have bedevilled our lives.
All you have to do is ignore the fear that they have tried to fill you with. Mark Carney tells you to fear the uncertainty of a future without him and his billionaire buddies having their greedy hands in your pockets.
There is a better way forward.
