New chapter idea in #makingmakers Book… I am currently listening to another book on increasing personal performance. I’ve read or listen to dozens of these “self-help” books.
Where is the research on creating optimal performance in the classroom.
For instance…if we know diet fuels health, why do we continue to feed our young learners brains with donuts in the morning!!! It will be tough to “make” solutions and things if they can’t stay awake! #makingmakersbook #stem #STEMeducation #steam
Making Makers - Havent posted in a while… Still continually amazed at what young learners can produce given opportunities. Been working on a book for the last couple years. It’s far enough along now that I wouldn’t mind crowd-sourcing some ideas and gathering stories. 1/3
The educational learning model is somewhat based on many learning theories in the past especially Bloom’s. Mine is a little different:

One of our favorite days all year! RoboGolf! This is a video of what we created last year! Excited to see what this year‘s engineers will come up with. Lots of posts today showing how we create a 9 hole mini golf course at Champions Golf Course. #MakingMakers #stem #robotics

Well done @napls_hs !
The Digital Eagles had a blast at the Miami Valley Regional Competition! 🦅🤖
We placed #1 overall in rankings, and went all the way to the finals, and lost to the #2 alliance. Well played from @BeakSquad4028 @MARS_2614 and Team 424!
1/4 of our cardboard carnival games done! Great job by our @napls_ps @napls engineers! 3 weeks until showtime! #stem #steam #makingmakers
In some cases, I believe a lot depends on the amount of space you actually have and time and age and…Seriously, like @dailystem said, Find the Why. Which of the letters are you focused on? Science - need more hands on, less digital. Technology - we do a lot of this
If you run or could run a #STEM #STEAM lab what are some items, tools,technology, etc. that you would recommend? @Dr_WhiteEdu @dailystem @Nieb77 @kcollazo @KnIhT_tNeReFfId @that_stem_guy @AndreaMango1 @VivifySTEM @PattyUcciferri @Sandy4STEAM
On the Engineering side same tools as before but we add lots of building manipulative kits to lets kids just explore thing like gears, axles, etc and put in @MyRoboThink robots.
We weren’t sure if we would get it done, but close to 300 1st graders create their own animals for our district’s Carnival of the Animals! Couldn’t have done it without the help of at @tinkercad @Creality3dP @microcenter #stem #stemeducation #steam #makerspace #engineering
