🚨MAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES JUST TWO MONTHS AFTER RELEASE FROM 20 YEARS BEHIND BARS A Bradford man who accessed and distributed child sexual abuse images just two months after being released from prison has been jailed for 27 months. Naveed Ahmed, 40, of Mannheim Road, Manningham, also faced recall to prison on a life licence following his earlier conviction for arson with intent to endanger life. Bradford Crown Court heard Ahmed had spent 20 years behind bars before his release. Within two months, he was accessing Category A images, the most serious classification, and making claims online that he was abusing children. Prosecutor Rebecca Young said those claims were groundless fantasies. Ahmed pleaded guilty to making three Category A indecent images of children and distributing one Category A image. Police arrested him after his Facebook account was closed following the upload of a child abuse image. Officers searched his home and seized a phone containing two videos and a further indecent image. The court heard Ahmed had joined an online group with 269 participants. The day before his arrest, he demanded £5,000 from another member in exchange for not exposing the man’s involvement. Ahmed was not charged with blackmail. His previous life sentence was imposed in 2000 for burglary and arson with intent to endanger life. He had ransacked a house and started three separate fires. Although his minimum prison term was considerably shorter than the time he ultimately served, the court heard the Parole Board had not considered him safe to release for 20 years. Judge Jonathan Rose, who considered probation and psychiatric reports, described the case as complex and said Ahmed posed a danger to children. “It’s a darkness of mind that is deeply, deeply worrying,” he said. The judge highlighted how quickly Ahmed had committed further offences after being released. Following his recall under the life sentence, his release would depend on a further assessment of whether he remained a danger to the public.
