Alia was different because she was pre-born.
In Frank Herbert’s Dune, Jessica’s Water of Life ritual awakened Alia while she was still in the womb. This gave her access to ancestral memories, including those of male ancestors. She didn’t need to be the Kwisatz Haderach to access them.
But here’s the problem: Alia inherited these memories before developing her own identity. She had no psychological defences against the powerful personalities within her.
In Children of Dune, Baron Harkonnen exploits this vulnerability, gradually taking control of her mind.
This is what the Bene Gesserit feared as Abomination: when an ancestral personality overwhelms the individual.
Alia’s tragedy wasn’t that she lacked power. It was that she inherited too much, too early, before she could become her own person.
A question occurred to me earlier and I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help. I've read all of the books several times but I don't think or don't remember this being explained.
So reverend mother's have access to all of their female ancestry memories, they spent thousands of years trying to breed their kwisatz haderach- a male with access to both male and female ancestry memories which is where Paul comes in.
Paul's sister Alia was awakened in the womb by accident, making her a reverend mother from birth, with access to her female ancestry!!
How then was she 'taken over' (abomination) by the memories/personality of her grandfather the Baron Harkonen?? Surely it's not possible as she wasn't a kwisatz haderach-
Can anyone clarify this for me, or point me in the right direction?

Nolan turns Odysseus into a guilt-haunted PTSD war criminal whose greatest trick (the Horse) makes him the “People from the Sea” that end the Bronze Age making the whole epic a quiet indictment of civilization’s original sin rather than a hero’s triumph.
I just found out that Paul Atriedes is actually Agamemnon’s direct descendant😳…
What’s more disturbing is that after Agamemnon’s death, his kingdom (Mycenae) was destroyed and enslaved for centuries until Paul’s father Leto and his son stood up to claim their kingdom back.

In Homer’s original Odyssey, Odysseus’ fatal flaw was shouting his real name from the ship giving Polyphemus (cyclops) the name to curse him to Poseidon.
But Nolan’s Odysseus never tells Polyphemus who he is
So how was the cyclops able to tell Poseidon it was Odysseus? #odyssey

The Water of Life is far more than a sacred drink in Dune. It’s the key to unlocking ancestral memories and awakening extraordinary abilities.
In Frank Herbert’s books, it’s a poisonous substance extracted from a drowned young sandworm. A Bene Gesserit Reverend Mother must chemically transform it inside her body to survive. Doing so unlocks the memories of generations of female ancestors, known as Other Memory.
But Paul changes everything.
In Dune: Part Two, Jessica survives the ritual while pregnant, exposing Paul to the Water of Life before birth. In the books, Paul later undergoes the transformation himself, gaining access to both male and female ancestral memories.
This is what separates him from ordinary Reverend Mothers and helps awaken the Kwisatz Haderach.
The Water of Life doesn’t simply give someone power. It unlocks generations of memory, and in Paul’s case, helps create something the Bene Gesserit had spent thousands of years trying to achieve.

I’d have to disagree with the fact that a giant run very slow like this…They are naturally a giant just like we are naturally a human, which means they should be faster and swifter than a normal person..
If Circe can just use magic to turn them into pigs on the spot, why bother with the fancy meal and potion first? Why didn’t she just zap the whole crew the second they walk in.

Because staying home with Penelope was boring as hell after all that adventure.
Rewatching The odyssey and i’m still quite confused about the ending…After twenty years, why did Odysseus choose to leave Ithaca again? #TheOdyssey

I was wondering what happened to the cyclops eye after Odysseus blinded him?
Did his father heal him or he was blind for the rest of his life ?

Levi is so funny because he isn’t afraid of Titans as tall as buildings but is surprisingly afraid of clowns ?😂

Thor didn’t beat Hela with strength. He beat her by realizing she was drawing her power from Asgard itself.
Hela was Odin’s firstborn and the Goddess of Death. On Asgard she was nearly unstoppable. The longer the fight went on, the clearer it became that no one on the field could put her down
Surtur was the only force strong enough, but only after Loki placed his crown in the Eternal Flame and restored him to full power. That act fulfilled the Ragnarok prophecy and destroyed the realm that was feeding Hela.
Thor didn’t win the fight. He chose to end Asgard so his people could live.

I finally found out that the reason Odysseus and Penelope survived wasn’t because of their love for each other but because they actually made an oath that binded their souls together to the point that they cannot have another lover unless one of them dies…
