After having Perfect Legend and Tom Brady on my podcast a few days ago regarding the 13-0 situation, I've been private messaged by several people and I've seen the fallout of the pod here on this app so I'm just going to lay out how I feel about this instead of repeating myself over and over. I just want you to bear in mind that this is not an attack on anybody and some of the people that messaged me are friends and people I'd consider peers in this space, so please don't take my honesty as an attack on anyone. I can promise you it's not and I am not referencing any one person in this either before I see people making reaction videos or quote retweets like this is about them. I promise you it's not. This is all from my perspective. PL is one man and it has been one man versus thousands for 10 years now. He got on stage and faced off against Sonic Fox and unfortunately it didn't go his way, but after seeing receipt upon receipt upon receipt of unprovoked insults from people that will never accomplish even a smidgen of what he has, I can completely understand why his responses to people have become more aggressive as of late. Even the developers at NRS have been sneak dissing him for some time now. You guys are not slick. I mean no offence when I say this, but majority of you wouldn't last a week online let alone ten years if you were being bullied to the level PL is... And it is bullying. People like myself or PL put ourselves online and so we do have to rest with the fact that we have opened ourselves up to all sorts of things and PL understands that but that doesn't mean that online personalities can't clap back and clap back in anyway they see fit. It's easy to sit behind a screen having not been the subject of ridicule by people in your space and even peers for years and say "get over it" but that really holds no weight from people that don't even show their face online. Internet anonymity is important and I'm not asking for people to show their faces if they don't want to, but you're also not in a position to tell someone to get over something when you have no idea what it feels like to have all of those eyes on you. You're shielded by your blue haired Loli anime pfp and so no matter what you say, nobody's really going to come at you too hard because you're not real to them. You're a real person sitting there making those comments, but it holds no weight because you're just not out there like that. Essentially and respectfully, nobody truly values about your advice on a subject like this because you simply cannot relate. You just become another anime avatar yapping. Again, I mean that respectfully. I'm just being real. I cannot take people seriously when they say "well what has he done since?" when the very people saying this have never done anything ever. Barely able to finish a set in ranked let alone show up to a local and not go 0-2. You have the freedom to say it but you look pretty ridiculous in doing so. I get everything is a joke online and people just say shit, but I've seen enough messages from people to know that some of them really mean it and to you people I have to say, "Are you high?". Accomplish something even close to that and then pipe up. Until then you should probably know your role and shut your mouth.. respectfully. There are videos accumulating in the millions, endless tweets and random messages being posted about the 13-0 every day. You guys don't see all of them because you're not PL. You see what blows up or catches wind, not all of the small comments made every day. That weighs heavy on a person when you can't even breathe and someone says "13-0" Of course he is going to clap back. He's a legend in the scene, a 3 time EVO champion and a decorated fighting game player in general so to be made fun of by some people that do nothing but play fighting games and still can't do a Hadoken consistently is probably annoying after hearing it for 10 years (1/2)
