Test Twenty®

What if a cricket team’s victory depended on both its boys and girls performing well? That’s the idea behind Test Twenty, a new cricket format set to debut in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 14 to 29 November 2026. The tournament will bring together 160 young cricketers aged 13 to 21 from around the world, divided into four continental teams. Each team will have 20 boys and 20 girls, whose performances will contribute to the same team result. And the format is just as interesting! Each match will feature 80 overs in a single day. The first 40 will be played with a red ball in whites during daylight, followed by 40 overs with a white ball in coloured kits under floodlights. Scores will carry forward between the two halves. The tournament also introduces a Parity Rule, designed to make the boys’ and girls’ performances equally important to the outcome. With cricket legends AB de Villiers, Matthew Hayden and Sir Clive Lloyd on its advisory board, could Test Twenty change how the next generation experiences the game?
