Today, on the third commemoration of the October 7 attack of barbarism on civilization, the International Legal Forum is launching its Dictionary of Terms.
This online resource is designed to remember, reclaim, and renew the foundational principles of the law that have been systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted, and weaponized.
The Dictionary of Terms emerges from a growing recognition that the erosion of language is not merely a semantic concern. When terms such as "genocide," "apartheid," "war crimes," and "crimes against humanity" are detached from their legal definitions and repurposed as weapons, the consequences extend far beyond the courtroom or classroom. The integrity of law itself risks collapse.

War crimes?
For Hamas - human tragedy is the strategy, deliberately using Gaza’s civilians as human shields and sacrifices.
Groups like Amnesty and HRW not only embolden Hamas to perpetrate continued war crimes with impunity, they wield and collapse this and other vital terms.

Organizations like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International repeatedly accuse Israel of war crimes.
But these false allegations rely on the redefinition and weaponization of legal terms, ignoring essential legal tests like the proportionality analysis and fueling the war of words against Israel.
@UNWatch Executive Director and international human rights lawyer @HillelNeuer exposes who is actually guilty of war crimes.

Crimes against humanity was created to describe criminality on an extraordinary scale.
What happens if we remove this threshold?
What happens if this legal term is systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted, wielded as weapon to demonize, delegitimize, apply double standards?
Grateful to @COLRICHARDKEMP for clearly explaining the importance of this term, and for participating in @The_ILF launch of this resource, designed to remember, reclaim, and renew the foundational principles of law, created and entrusted to be upheld and protected equally and consistently.

🔴Torture, murder, enslavement, rape, and extermination are all crimes, but when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack, they become a crime against humanity.
Retired British Army Officer & commander of British forces in Afghanistan @COLRICHARDKEMP explains what legally constitutes a crime against humanity & what the implications are when this clearly defined term is stripped of its meaning.

That’s the rule:
Same word.
Same definition.
Same standard.
Don’t take our word for it. Read the definition, sources and context yourself:

War crime.
A vital legal term with specific meaning, that if systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted, wielded as weapon to demonize, delegitimize, apply double/invented standards - does not mean very much.
Grateful to @SpencerGuard for clearly explaining the importance of this term, and for participating in @The_ILF launch of this resource, designed to remember, reclaim, and renew the foundational principles of law, created and entrusted to be upheld and protected equally and consistently.

What constitutes a war crime?

Urban warfare expert & US Army combat veteran @SpencerGuard breaks down the meaning of the term “war crime” and why misusing the term undermines the integrity of international law.
Words have meaning.

According to NAZA there was a remarkably high allowance for collateral damage by the IDF when attacking military targets in Gaza. But in what can only be an amazing coincidence based on Hamas' own fatality data, much of that collateral damage was men of fighting age.
Evacuating civilians from a combat zone is not ethnic cleansing. Forcibly removing a people to render a territory ethnically homogenous is.
The definition is grounded in history and is considered a "crime against humanity" in international law.

A sad reality we live in today when legal experts need to create a dictionary for terms that always had clear meaning. But, in recent years, these words have been hijacked and weaponized. Time to go back to the basics.
In May 2026, the New York Times published a column by Nicholas Kristof.
Not only did the piece falsely accuse Israel of henious crimes, it weaponized a term that is grounded in law to do so.
The hijacking of legal terms like rape isn’t just a threat for the Israelis raped on and since the October 7 massacre, it is a problem for past survivors and future victims everywhere.

Rape.
After decades of Orwellian perversion of facts & law - heinous sexual crimes & rape of Israelis on & since October 7 that were met with international silence, denial, justification…were cynically wielded as ‘justified’ lethal weapon to demonize, delegitimize, apply double standards to ‘the Jew’ among nations, including by mainstream media.
Grateful to @Eve_Barlow for showcasing this toxic case study, joining @The_ILF launch of this resource, designed to remember, reclaim, and renew the foundational principles of law that have been systematically hijacked, redefined, inverted, & weaponized…to the detriment of all.

Earlier this year, The New York Times published a column accusing Israel of crimes that were as grotesque as they were absurd, including training dogs to sexually abuse prisoners.
These unfounded allegations are not only slanderous against Israel, but an injustice to the millions of real survivors of sexual violence around the world. Here’s why. xitter.cf/The_ILF/status/2110006…

Rape is never “resistance.”
Not in Bosnia. Not in Rwanda. Not on October 7.
The lesson the world learned was supposed to be permanent. It was enshrined in international law.
Instead, this legally grounded definition that was created and entrusted to protect was hijacked, redefined, inverted, and weaponized.
