Latest: Allegation made that an Israeli player spat on an Irish staff member at HT
As the teams were going in the tunnel, Irish coach Damien Doyle claimed that he was spat on by an Israeli player. We understand that Serbian security said they witnessed it too.

Pure lies from this shrill. Adam Idah was racially abused and Molumby told the officials
🚨🇮🇪🚨🇮🇱
According to Israeli sports 5, new details have emerged in relation to the confrontation between the Irish team and the Israeli team at last night’s ⚽️ UEFA match in Hungary:
‘During the game, the [Israeli] team's players complained to referee Haram Osmers that Jayson Molumby, a West Bromwich player, was cursing them. Molumby even called Eliel Peretz a monkey, which led to a loud confrontation between the Irishman and the Hapoel Be'er Sheva player.
At the end of the game, just before he reached the interview stand, Everton
defender Jake O'Brien shouted at the team's captain Manor Solomon from the locker room: "Shame on you for what you're doing in Gaza. You deserve to lose."
*
Solomon did not remain silent and replied:
"Come out, be a man. Don't talk behind a wall. It's a shame the game wasn't in Israel, you would understand what the best country in the world is."
Security guards, and the head of the association's information department Shlomi Barzel, who was present, calmed things down before they escalated. "Manor said what we think without fear, without blinking," the delegation concluded.’

Israel has, both during the game and during the aftermath, killed civilians in two nations. Just a reminder of what matters.
This is Khalifa from Gaza, he came to Ireland twice, played football, met the President. He was a Palestine National Youth Team player. He was 20 when he was murdered by Israel, one of the 566 football players they killed. He is why the FAI must not play apartheid Israel.

There is a section of the British right that are genuinely unhinged. Hilarious
If Ireland wants Northern Ireland it will have to fight for it. Ireland doesn’t even have a proper military, has no real air force or navy, is not a member of NATO, is a neutral country and even depends on the UK for protection. N. Ireland will be British for hundreds more years.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Any future moves towards Irish unity are enshrined in law as per the Good Friday Agreement/Belfast Agreement by a referendum in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. There is no requirement for a war and any suggestion of such is factually incorrect

The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.
This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country. Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.
