The 1980s home computing boom saw children learning to program, many wanting to create computer games.

DESOLATOR for the MSX (Gremlin Graphics/1986).
Very fast side-scrolling space shooter, among the best and most polished shoot 'em ups for MSX1. It's European🇬🇧 and it is not a port (it's exclusive).
It's heavily inspired by Defender and is shown here at 50Hz, but we played it back then at 60Hz because it was how our MSX🇧🇷ran - so, extra challenging because it goes even faster.
Friday means another school
Visit and a return to #Rendlesham. A busy day awaits as we celebrate how #1980s #Britain entered the #computing age.

It’s been a year since our children spoke up, went to Parliament and delivered a letter to Downing Street.
They didn’t get a reply.
The stink in our town is worse than ever.
Classrooms smell, the kids don't want to play out and it's affecting the mental health of so many people.
This is their message to the Prime Minister.
Please share.

40 years ago, Commodore announced the Amiga 1000 would hit stores on May 9th but didn't say which stores and how much it would cost. It turned out to be a tiny number of dealers and hugely expensive. It was basically a stopgap until the Amiga 500 finally arrived 12 months later.
