Viagra solved blood flow..but it didn’t solve desire. Peptides may be the next frontier in sexual performance.
Two stand out: Kisspeptin and PT-141.
Kisspeptin → desire. In one study of men with low sexual desire, kisspeptin increased erectile response by up to 56% vs placebo. Brain imaging also showed increased activity in regions associated with sexual processing and attraction.
PT-141 → arousal. Unlike traditional ED drugs that primarily improve blood flow, PT-141 acts on melanocortin receptors in the brain involved in sexual arousal and response.
Sexual dysfunction isn’t always a plumbing problem. Desire and arousal begin in the brain before blood flow enters the equation.
