“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7–8

Why do people think that their circumstances will be improved by going to the Witchdoctor? Seeking counsel or blessings from Witchdoctors, Shamans, Wizards, and Mediums is forbidden in the Bible because the people are putting their faith in the spirits of demons. This is a serious sin against God that was punished by death in the Old Testament. “And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after Wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.” — Lev. 20:6 Witchdoctors are possessed by unclean spirits and these demons defile those who resort to them for help (Lev. 19:31). Consequentially, God said, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” (Ex. 22:18). Witchdoctors and their patients were all doomed to die by law! Nevertheless, many Africans still think that they can enquire of the Lord through Witchdoctors.

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” — Ps. 66:18 “Be not silent to me: lest, if Thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit” — Ps. 28:1 We all have problems. We all need answers from God! You could say that Saul went to the Pastors, Prophets, and Apostles of the Church to try to get answers from God, but the Lord was silent. No dreams, visions, prophecies, or blessings were given to Saul. Therefore, in desperation, Saul attempted to make contact with God through the Witch of Endor. Similarly, when Africans have problems, they pray and fast and go to the Church for answers. If the Man of God can’t solve the problem, then they go to the Witchdoctor. This is a bad idea! Saul died for consulting a Witch. “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.” — 1 Chron. 10:13-14 In the beginning, Saul did enquire of the Lord, but when he encountered the silence of God, he became discouraged and went to the Witchdoctor. He should have repented of his sins and kept enquiring of God. Saul gave up on God and paid the price. Saul died because he asked counsel from the Witchdoctor rather than enquiring of the Lord.

King Saul was reprobate and demon possessed and spent decades trying to murder David (1 Sam. 15:1-16:15). Consequentially, Saul was shut up under the silence of God in the hour of his need (1 Sam. 28:6). “And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. And when Saul enquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.” — 1 Sam. 28:5-7 Saul knew that he was going to be killed on the battlefield without the blessing of God. The silence of God is a deadly manifestation of divine wrath that is reserved for sinners who refuse to repent. Have you repented of your sins? David watched Saul die under the silence of God. He took it as a lesson on the necessity of repentance. “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” — Ps. 66:18

Upon death, if the soul is momentarily suspended in the air above the body, the soul cannot fly here or there like astral projection. The soulcannot go where it pleases on Earth. This idea comes from occult pagan doctrines of witchcraft and ancestral worship. Nor can the spirits of deadpeople walk to and fro wandering about the Earth to visit people and influence current affairs. Upon death, the spirit shall return to God and face judgment, which means that it will be sentenced to one of two eternal destinations: Heaven or Hell (Eccl. 12:7, Heb. 9:27). The souls of dead people do not fly into Heaven as they wish. Upon death, if the soul of a true Christian is suspended above his bodymomentarily, holy angels will come and get that soul for the purpose of bringing it to its final destination. For example, when Lazarus died, we can see that he was “carried by the angels” to Paradise (Lk. 16:22). One of the established vocational duties of angels is to fly to the elect wherever they are to “gather” them together and carrythem to glory, like an angelic chariot of fire picked up and carriedElijah into Heaven (Matt. 24:30-31, Mk. 13:27, 2 Kings 2:11-12). The souls of dead people do not fly into Hell as they wish. The disembodied spirits of sinners do not ever go to Hell willingly! Nobody wants to go to Hell. Sinners are forced to go to Hell. These condemned souls are “bound hand and foot” by angels and “cast” into Hell by force (Matt. 22:13). Upon death, if the soulof a sinner is suspended above his body momentarily, angels will come and get that soul to bring it to its final destination. The angels come and “gather”them and then “cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 13:40-42, 49-50).

Mortal life began when Adam became a living soul (Gen. 2:7). Mortal life ends when the soul leaves the body (James 2:26, Gen. 35:18, 1 Kings 17:21-22, Lk. 8:54-55, 23:46). When the soulleaves the body, where does it go? It goes to God for judgment. “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” – Eccl. 12:7 “And as it is appointed unto men onceto die, but after this the judgment:” – Heb. 9:27

HEAVEN HAS GATES. (Ps. 24:7-10, Rev. 21:12-13, 21, 27, 22:14-15, Isa. 26:1-2, 60:18; Lk. 13:24, 2 Pet. 1:11) HELL HAS GATES. (Rev. 1:18, 3:7, Matt. 16:18, Isa. 38:10, 17-18, Job 38:17, Ps. 9:13-14, 17, 107:18) Heaven is an everlasting Kingdom of glory. Hell is an everlasting Prison of punishment (Rev. 20:1-3, 7). Souls that go to Hell will be locked up like prisoners are bound in chains and sit behind bars (Job 17:16, Jonah 2:6, Rev. 20:1-3, 7, Isa. 24:21-22, 2 Pet. 2:4, Jude 1:6). All the souls in Hell right now cannot ever come out, nor will they ever come out until the final resurrection that takes place after the Millennial Reign of Christ, at which point Hell transitions into the Lake of Fire as a continuation of the eternal torment (Rev. 20:11-15).

The damnation of the soul is infinite loss in the form of conscious and eternal torment in Hell (Matt. 25:41, 46, Mk. 9:43-48, Lk. 16:22-26, Rev. 14:10-11, 20:10). The salvation of the soul is infinite gain in the form of conscious and eternal bliss in Heaven (Matt. 25:21, Ps. 86:13, Rev. 21:3-4, 22:3-5). The souls of all the dead are in Heaven or Hell right now! The Prophets of the Bible have seen the Spirit World. The Prophets of the Bible have seen the souls in Heaven (Rev. 6:9-11, 20:4, Heb. 12:22-24). The Prophets of the Bible have seen the souls in Hell (Lk. 16:22-24, Isa. 14:9-11). The souls in either place cannot go in and out as they wish. The Spirit World consists of domains equipped with closed and locked Gates that only open to those who have a legal right of passage. HEAVEN HAS GATES. (Ps. 24:7-10, Rev. 21:12-13, 21, 27, 22:14-15, Isa. 26:1-2, 60:18; Lk. 13:24, 2 Pet. 1:11) HELL HAS GATES. (Rev. 1:18, 3:7, Matt. 16:18, Isa. 38:10, 17-18, Job 38:17, Ps. 9:13-14, 17, 107:18)

Jesus Christ and the apostles repeatedly spoke about the salvation or damnation of the soul (1 Pet. 1:9, Heb. 10:39, James 1:21). Your soul is the most valuable thing in your possession. Over 100,000 people die every day worldwide! You may be next. God has numbered your days. Don’t be distracted by the things of this world (1 Jn. 2:15-17). Success, prosperity, and provision on Earth mean nothing in Eternity. “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soulshall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” – Luke 12:19-20

“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” – Matt. 16:25-26

God created you with two primary components: body and soul (Gen. 2:7, 3:19). The body is mortal and destructible. The soul is immortal and indestructible. The bodydies, decomposes, is eaten by worms, and returns to the dust until the final resurrection (Job 19:26, 21:26, 24:20). The soul lives on and goes to one of two places in the afterlife: Heaven or Hell. God, your Creator, loves you and wants to save your soul and bring you to Heaven. Satan, your Enemy, hates you and wants to steal your soul and bring you down to Hell.
