Can I ‘politely ignore’ what the Pope says?
A question from a reader about the texts from Fr Domenico Palmieri SJ, and whether Catholics can simply ignore the Pope:

Billot expressed succinctly the Church’s teaching on the infallible safety of her universal disciplinary laws:
“[T]he Church is assisted by God so that she can never institute a discipline which would be in any way opposed to the rule of faith or to evangelical holiness.”
The Conciliar Church lacks the mark of holiness also because it suppresses holiness. It removes and closes TLM chapels, places in which the faith grows and flourishes. Why would a local bishop close a chapel that offers his diocese the most growth?

At 12:20 he invokes the Doctrine of the Two Swords but then denies that the spiritual sword is to supervise the temporal sword.
"Certainly the one who denies that the temporal sword is in the power of Peter has not listened well to the word of the Lord commanding: ‘Put up thy sword into thy scabbard‘ [Mt 26:52]."

Should Catholics call the Eastern Orthodox sects “Our Holy Eastern Aunts”?
The Catholic Church is our “Holy Mother.”
But if, as the Conciliar/Synodal Church claims, there are (at least) “two churches” which supposedly “recognize each other as Sister Churches” – then yes, the Eastern Orthodox sects are your “Aunts”.
But if you think this is cringeworthy bunkum, you are correct.
The root and cause of the cringe is the Vatican II ecclesiology, which denies the catholicity of thr Church. See more here:

Comments
Yes, “two Churches” is really what was said. Consider the following from the Balamand Declaration:
“Two Churches”
No evangelisation based on the necessity of the Catholic Church for salvation:
“Not only should every form of pressure, of any kind whatsoever, be excluded, but respect for consciences, motivated by an authentic exigency of faith, is one of the principles guiding the pastoral concern of those responsible in the two Churches and should be the object of their common reflection (cf. Gal 5, 13).”
Catholics must consult the local Orthodox sects bishop before doing anything in “his jurisdiction”:
“In this context, to avoid all misunderstanding and to develop confidence between the two Churches, it is necessary that Catholic and Orthodox bishops of the same territory consult with each other before establishing Catholic pastoral projects which imply the creation of new structures in regions which traditionally form part of the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church, in view to avoid parallel pastoral activities which would risk rapidly degenerating into rivalry or even conflicts.”
Need to pass “beyond the outdated ecclesiology of return to the Catholic Church”:
“30. To pave the way for future relations between the two Churches, passing beyond the outdated ecclesiology of return to the Catholic Church connected with the problem which is the object of this document, special attention will be given to the preparation of future priests and of all those who, in any way, are involved in an apostolic activity carried on in a place where the other Church traditionally has its roots. Their education should be objectively positive with respect of the other Church.”
Sister Churches
Uniatism and seeking converts from “our holy Eastern Aunts” is not allowed:
“Because of the way in which Catholics and Orthodox once again consider each other in their relationship to the mystery of the Church and discover each other once again as Sister Churches, this form of ‘missionary apostolate’ described above, and which has been called ‘uniatism"‘, can no longer be accepted either as a method to be followed nor as a model of the unity our Churches are seeking.”
The Church recognises the Holy Eastern Aunts’ shared responsibility for making sure the Church stays “faithful":
“[T]he Catholic Churches and the Orthodox Churches recognize each other as Sister Churches, responsible together for maintaining the Church of God in fidelity to the divine purpose, most especially in what concerns unity.”
Another denial of EENS:
“Suspicion would disappear more easily if the two parties were to condemn violence wherever communities of one Church use it against communities of a Sister Church. As requested by His Holiness Pope John Paul II in his letter of May 31st, 1991, it is necessary that all violence and every kind of pressure be absolutely avoided in order that freedom of conscience be respected. It is the task of those in charge of communities to assist their faithful to deepen their loyalty towards their own Church and towards its traditions and to teach them to avoid not only violence, be that physical, verbal or moral, but also all that could lead to contempt for other Christians and to a counter-witness, completely ignoring the work of salvation which is reconciliation in Christ.”
Conclusion
John Paul II praised this document in Ut unum sint. It is a denial of the Catholic religion. There are no “Holy Eastern Aunts”, just one one “Holy Mother Church” – outside of which there is no salvation.
She is the Roman Catholic Church, whose chief See is currently occupied by a man who is not the true Pope.

Yesterday’s Epistle at Mass said:
“… one body and one Spirit, even as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all, Who is above all, and throughout all, and in us all, Who is blessed forever and ever.”
Here is what Pope Leo XIII taught about this passage:
“Agreement and union of minds is the necessary foundation of this perfect concord amongst men, from which concurrence of wills and similarity of action are the natural results.
“Wherefore, in His divine wisdom, He ordained in His Church Unity of Faith; a virtue which is the first of those bonds which unite man to God, and whence we receive the name of the faithful – ‘one Lord, one faith, one baptism’ (Eph. iv., 5).
“That is, as there is one Lord and one baptism, so should all Christians, without exception, have but one faith.” (Satis Cognitum, n. 6.)
Unity of faith is a necessary property of the Church; insofar as it is manifested externally, in a united doctrine and profession of belief in that doctrine, it is also a mark of the Church.
But there is not “one faith” in the Conciliar/Synodal Church. There is a multiplicity of different faiths taught and professed. It is visibly disunited in faith.
In other words, the Conciliar/Synodal Church lacks a necessary property of the Church. It is not the Catholic Church.

Just so embarrassing. Constant changing of your position is what I expect of 15 year olds - these are grown men, many with families and children (don’t know about Nicholas C.)
Imagine what it must do to a child to see their father flick between the SSP, Indult, New Mass etc

Recusant is dead right. To me, I believe this crisis shows the lack of Faith in folks. Not saying they are of ill will, but it’s clear the Novus Ordo does not give the supernatural gift of Faith to its followers.

Your weekend read is here, only at The Journal of American Reform!
Canonizations of the Catholic Church are indeed infallible. Father JV De Groot, O.P. explains what this entails:
1. That the one canonized was resplendent in holiness of life.
2. That he has been received among the blessed in heaven.
3. That he is, for that reason, to be venerated and invoked.
