Owen Brown, an 82 yr old Herefordshire, UK, farmer, showed the BBC his love for heavy metal. Megadeth, Maiden & Def Leppard sent him gifts! He was played out to Megadeth at his funeral, aged 87. Absolute legend! We all want to be like Owen! Who's the oldest metalhead you know?

One space after a comma, two spaces after a full stop. That is the one true way. Anything else is wrong. Yes, I know HTML only puts one after a full stop no matter how many you type - it's wrong.

As you may be aware, the RNLI College in Poole is a hotel and restaurant / bar that serves as accommodation for crew members that are in training at the adjacent headquarters. Any surplus rooms are bookable by members of the public and it generates valuable extra income for the charity. Unfortunately, they’ve had to put out a statement confirming that no migrants / asylum seekers are currently staying on the premises thanks to various β€˜in the know’ individuals on social media who were convinced otherwise. They very kindly had us down there in 2022 for a couple of nights because of my fundraising for them. As part of the experience we had the tour that included a go on a fully functioning lifeboat simulator where we raced to a shipping collision and inferno just off the coast of Dover. It’s well worth checking them out if you fancy a break down that way. SUPPORT THE RNLI - rebrand.ly/imvl9mb

Anyone who has listened to my shows the last 10 years has heard me consistently predict this trend would happen. Every reason why CDs annihilated vinyl for decades when they came out still exists. The industry saw a huge cash grab to paint CDs as the archaic format and bury them. Because they could get $70 for a single album expanded to a double, remastered, etc. Now the swing back. Time to remind everyone how cool CDs are and always were. Cheap, digital, no wear, no flipping, no skips or pops, still cool packaging options, no needle, no cleaning, can rip into phone or computer and more . I have no issue with vinyl, but it was so obvious the play was to dump your β€œuncool” CDs, and buy the β€œcool” format of vinyl again at insane prices. Now comes the wave to get you to rebuy CDs. Unless you are an audio file with some incredible equipment , CD was always for a ton of reasons the superior format. And now comes the return. Called it for 10 years at least!
CDs Are Back, and We Think We Know Why Data shows that Gen Z fans are listening to music from the Nineties and earlier on those shiny round discs. rollingstone.com/music/music…

Now leaving Hakone, where incessant cicadas sound like The Black Keys' "Lonely Boy", and nearly as loud. Rocking insects!

Just watched Eps 1& 2 of The Sentinels on @BBCiPlayer it was sooo baffling i think they might be labelled in the wrong order..? Or maybe the title links to the wrong Episode? Anyway, I think I've seen what happens at the end, so I'll not bother watching, now.

Let's just say "a friend of mine" was quite excited about seeing the solar eclipse tomorrow, but can't find his eclipse viewing specs... where would he find some, in Cheltenham..? I'll pass the answers on, it's not me, obvs...

Dame Penelope Keith has sadly passed away. This stairway sketch from the 1977 Morecambe & Wise Christmas Special is still one of the funniest things ever shown on TV. You can see all three trying (and failing) to keep it together. An absolute classic.

#Bands: When you launch a pre-order have enough to satisfy demand, don't sell out after an hour. And when you have a ticket pre-sale try actually sending the code to fans who sign up to your website..? Or: just piss off the people who want to spend money on you.

#IREvWAL Ire scored at least two tries from poor Wales kicks. Wales got nothing from ref. No yellow for multiple Irish pens, even after warning, but Tomos Williams got one for a mystery offence. Should be enough to see off Italy.
