Raz Segal and I were the first genocide scholars to recognise Israel’s genocide in Gaza, in October 2023. Unlike me, he paid a serious price for speaking out, losing a prestigious position that he had just been offered, as a result of Zionist pressure. But now, 2 years later, he has won financial compensation from the University of Minnesota.
Congratulations to Raz—and let this be a lesson for all universities and other institutions that are tempted to penalise those who call out genocide.
Update on Raz Segal, scholar of Genocide/Holocaust Studies
"The settlement came after Segal obtained dozens of emails through a public records request, revealing a pressure campaign on university officials by donors, legislators and pro-Israel activists. The documents shared exclusively with the Guardian, reveal how the university shifted from defending Segal to eventually walking back their decision to hire him."

Foreign multinational tax avoiders Shell, Exxon, Chevron - who pay no royalties for our offshore gas - very likely to be making astronomical profits too. Alas the Uniparty gets their donations and shirked a super tax, again this year
Woodside just posted a 30% revenue jump to $6 BILLION over just 3 months 🤯

Gas companies cashing in on conflict in the Middle East while major parties refuse to ensure 🇦🇺 gets a fair return through a 25% gas export tax. We don't even have a windfall profits tax!🤦♂️
Treasury now expects gas export revenue $18 billion higher than forecast while Aussies are getting completely dudded.

Absolute panic in Tel Aviv. Thousands of Israelis are protesting the war, holding "Justice for Palestine" signs. The Zionist regime is so terrified of internal dissent that they are violently arresting their own citizens. The global narrative is completely collapsing.

Since 1900, humans have cleared 1.1 billion hectares of forest. Forests clean our air, purify our water, and are vital in the fight to address the growing climate crisis.
Keep forests standing. #ActOnClimate

Israel killed every single paramedic in this photo today in South Lebanon.
12 paramedics slaughtered in one Israeli strike.
Israel DELIBERATELY targeted their medical center.
Killing medics is a war crime.
Killing medics is a crime against humanity.

Israeli soldiers gang-raped a Palestinian so brutally he's hospitalised. And filmed it. A woman who leaked the video is arrested. When the rapists were arrested, Israelis protested that they had the right to rape Palestinians! The rape charges have now been dropped. #Israel

Don't know if you know this is the only Jarrah forest in the world, and when it is gone, it is gone. It cannot be replanted and here is Labor and Watt effectively giving it to the Americans.
We are not even taxing these guys, just giving everything away.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
