We identified two transcriptional states for alveolar AT2 cells. Using spatial transcriptomics, we found that AT2 cell states reside in specific niches (neighborhoods), interact with distinct alveolar fibroblast subtypes and are driven by inflammatory/anit-inflammatory signals.
