I keep seeing comparisons of Mark Walter to Warren Buffett, which completely misses how their balance sheets actually function:
Berkshire's $177.5B float is backed by $359.2B in liquid cash/T-bills. Walter seemingly used policyholder float for $20B in undisclosed, related-party private credit... prompting federal probes and a forced unwind.
