IN MEMORIAM – CONRAD “CRONOS” LANT It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Conrad “Cronos” Lant. For more than four decades, Conrad’s voice, his bass playing and his vision formed the very heart of VENOM. From the first dark sounds of ‘Welcome to Hell’ through ‘Black Metal’, ‘At War With Satan’, ‘Possessed’ and beyond, he created something that changed heavy metal music forever. VENOM never played by the rules. They went their own way. And Conrad was at the centre of it all – uncompromising, fearless and unmistakable. The Legions have always been an important part of VENOM. To everyone who has stood by the band over the years – those who bought the records, came to the gigs, wore the T-shirts, shared the music and kept the flame burning – Cronos was always grateful for your loyalty and support. A message from Nathan, Conrad’s son: “I would like to thank all the Legions for the support you have shown my father over the years. I know he held you all in very high regard. He poured his soul into his music, and it will live on. The legend of Cronos will never die.” His music will never die. His voice will never fade away. And VENOM’s legacy will live on through the music he created and through the Legions around the world who carry that flame forward. Thank you, Conrad. Thank you, Cronos. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the memories. Our deepest affection and condolences go to Nathan & Hel, his friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. REST IN PEACE, CONRAD THE LEGEND LIVES ON #venom #blackmetal #atwarwithsatan #restinpeace #legende #conradlant
