The latest SIR exercise is the only one in India’s history that has resulted in the shrinking of electoral rolls…
Historically, the 8 times that an intensive revision was carried out, more voters were added than deleted.

Licious, I didn't get your chicken ad yesterday. I was not on a fast or anything.
On top of that, I eat meat.
I get it. Durga Puja is on, festivities are everywhere, and you want to target the people celebrating with non-veg, which is fair.
But you know what else is everywhere right now? Millions of people who are not on fasts and nor are they celebrating.
I was genuinely confused and I am not the only one who scrolled past OP's post feeling it.
Licious, you can do better.

I can categorically say this claim from @DelhiPolice is a lie. It took the phones.
“We did not take anyone’s phones. These people misplace their phones themselves or leave them at home. They then put pressure on the police.”
24 phones missing after Delhi Police detentions. Where did they go?
Detainees say police took their phones and promised to return them. The police deny taking them. An e-FIR has been filed, but the phones remain unaccounted for. @SavyasachiAstha

The judicial custody of #AshutoshRanka and #SauravDas must be urgently reviewed and they must be released immediately.
Hoisting the National Flag, even in a prohibited area, should not warrant such prolonged detention. The judiciary and the executive must rise to the occasion to ensure that the youth of this country do not lose faith in the rule of law and constitutional rights.

Tragic killings continue to tear the state apart while government machinery stands utterly helpless. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh must answer for total failure in maintaining public order. Citizens carrying fallen bodies to leadership doors reflects absolute lawlessness and complete breakdown of administration.

Indian protests are many magnitudes more violent than the French ones. But the reason why liberals like Bedi can't see that is because they are fundamentally incapable of seeing state violence as violence. For them, all violence by the state is legitimate, by citizens is a crime.
French “student” protests are even more DUMBER than Indian protests. Not to mention they are much more violent and obscene.
And yet, instead of instilling sense among the aggrieved, we find people like Greta Thunberg joining them.
I guess it’s really about who cashes in on a dumb ignorant herd. There really is a great market in fuelling populism and delusions of a crowd.
At her own graduation ceremony, a 20 year old girl walked up to the British Governor of Bengal and fired five shots at him.
Her name was Bina Das.
She was born in 1911 in Krishnanagar, Bengal, the youngest of five sisters.
On 6 February 1932, Calcutta University held its convocation. The chief guest was the Governor of Bengal, Stanley Jackson. Bina was one of the students receiving a degree that day.
When the Governor began his speech, she stood up and fired. Five shots. Not one hit him. She was caught on the spot.
In her confession, she wrote that she wanted to die fighting this system.
She got nine years of rigorous imprisonment. She was 20.
When she came out, she joined the Quit India movement in 1942 and went back to jail till 1945. After independence, she was elected to the Bengal assembly. In 1960, India gave her the Padma Shri.
After her husband died, she moved to Rishikesh and lived alone, in poverty.
On 26 December 1986, she died there. Most accounts say passersby found her body by the roadside, and it took the police about a month to find out who she was.
In 2012, Calcutta University gave her the degree the British had held back. She had been dead for 26 years.
