Supported by @WHO, @UNICEF and other partners, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group, has commenced Lesotho’s first vaccine portfolio optimization and prioritization work in Maseru. The workshop aims to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and support sustainability. High-impact immunization choices amid evolving health priorities and limited resources.
Through the VPOP framework, NITAG and key stakeholders are assessing which vaccines to prioritize based on local disease burden, epidemiological evidence, health impact, and available resources. This collaborative process will help guide evidence-informed decisions in optimizing Lesotho’s national immunization programme and ensuring that vaccines deliver the greatest possible health impact for communities.
WHO remains committed to working with other stakeholders and supporting the Ministry of Health in ensuring sustainable and equitable immunization services in the country.
