Nothing like waking up to a 10 minute American Analog Set track freshly pulled from the vault:

While I do miss that organ-driven sound of the first three American Analog Set records, I don't miss it here, and there are hints of it that remind of that past. And suffice to say I'm eagerly awaiting the @numerogroup reissue to satiate my desire for the ol' Farfisa sound
favorite song on the new album is "Gin Shakes" theamericananalogset.bandcam…
an interview I did with Andrew Kenny about American analog Set's Know By Heart I did a few years ago when the reissue came out on @barsukrecords therecoup.com/2014/06/02/lik…
first thoughts on the new American Analog Set. I like it! It's..different. not so much of the Farfisa of the first three albums, but not as overly pop as the last two albums, either. it's a healthy amalgam of the two styles. theamericananalogset.bandcam…
if you remember back in the day they grew close to Death Cab For Cutie and that style is somewhat present on the poppier numbers, Andrew Kenny can sometimes sound like Ben Gibbard, but not in a bad way.

Brian’s 1967 avant-garde composition "Fall Breaks and Back to Winter (W. Woodpecker Symphony)" features a discordant progression that repeats with a refrain melodically imitating the laugh of the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker.

Deleted the tweet about consequence paying me $100 to interview mick jagger, but let it be said that’s how much I got to interview one of the biggest names in music. If that doesn’t speak to the bleak state of music writing in 2023 then I don’t know what does!
