Most poor people are not criminals but the vast majority of people who the American justice system criminalizes are poor/working class. This is a fact. A well established fact. Anecdotally and empirically, this is clear to anyone who has put any effort in to study crime in the US
Selling drugs, stealing cars and shooting people is largely done by people who occupy a social group that is neglected by the US economy and legal system, and the vast majority of people who live in that parallel society are poor
