Speaking of PS6 and Project Helix pricing, I don’t think next generation is gonna be handled like a traditional one🚀 ✅Price bracket appears to be significantly higher than the $500 you’d pay for a PS5 ✅Due to this price tag, there will be far less rapid early adoption to the new generation ✅Due to the slower adoption, far less developers will be willing to abandon a ~100 million install base of the PS5 generation, which they barely scratched the surface of in terms of potential ✅This means the first 4 years of PS6 era is gonna be mostly cross-gen games, probably even more so than PS5 era ✅PS5/Pro will continue to be supported ✅With ballooning development times and budgets, don’t expect any major first party titles. It’s gonna be 1 game a year if we’re lucky ✅Generational leap will be barely noticeable, and what we will see is essentially what PS5 was supposed to be able to deliver, but no one pushed that far in terms of a generational leap So it feels very much like PS6 / Project Helix are gonna be another generation where you’ll get more frames, high resolutions, better ray-tracing and faster loading, with less compromise, but barely anything that feels like a leap into a new generation.
