To be fair, Cousins once learned a hard lesson about underestimating youngsters.

Here's a surprise: one of my favorite follows @Super70sSports posted this pic from one of my stories, about the glories of Wiffle Ball. Did we have ghost-runners? Oh hell yes we did. (These kids are the sons of my cottage friend, following our traditions.) thepostgame.com/wiffle-ball-…

My go-to clip of Klay being on fire ...
Klay Thompson says sometimes when he struggles shooting, he will go on YouTube and reference past big games he’s had to maybe help him shake a slump. Asked when was the last time he did so, he said yesterday. Asked what his go-to is on YouTube, he smiled and said: “Game 6 Klay.”

RIP, Guy Lafleur. For a new generation of fans who didn't already know that Lafleur means The Flower, Molson once had the MacKenzie brothers help spread the word.

.@WaltFrazier once called Greg Grant, a 5-7 guard from Trenton State, "the Lilliputian of the squad." Play-by-play guy: "Clyde, for those of our listeners who haven't read Gulliver's Travels, maybe you can explain what Lilliputian means." Frazier: "Sure. Means diminutive."
Congratulations to 2022 Curt Gowdy Media Award Electronic Recipient, Walt Frazier. #GowdyAward

Imagine having a one-on-one with Tom Brady, and never writing a story about it. I called him at home before his senior year at Serra to ask if Michigan was recruiting him. He said the interest was mutual. IIRC this info was used in a chart on recruiting status of local players.

One of my most memorable John Madden moments was his telestrator breakdown of the Giants' Gatorade buckets late in the Super Bowl XXI. "This is the father bucket. This is the mother bucket. And since the last game, they had a baby bucket."

Love the word "snub." But there is a difference between not making a list and being snubbed from it. To snub is "to rebuff, ignore or spurn disdainfully." Making a case for a player to be included also requires deleting someone to keep the list at its original number.
