Dr. Shanti Pinto from Spaulding-Harvard Traumatic Brain Injury Model System recently released a podcast called "Heart Health After Brain Injury: The Cardiovascular Impacts of TBI." open.spotify.com/episode/5Y6…
Wonderful plenary by the great Dr. Zafonte this morning about TBI as a chronic condition at @ISPRM this morning. He really set the stage for the issues surrounding cardiovascular health after TBI that we'll be discussing at 4:15 today in rooms 105 & 106

Excellent plenary by @peabody124 on his exciting research and the potential of AI in rehabilitation medicine at @ISPRM
Come find us tomorrow @ISPRM talking about our research on cardiovascular health after TBI.

Looking forward to taking our "Cardiovascular Health after TBI" World Tour to @ISPRM this week.
Pro tip: Before going to the airport for an international conference, make sure the passport you grab is the current active one and not expired. Saves an extra trip to/from home!
Ask the House and Senate to support rehabilitation research funding. Two letters to sign in support with details at the following links:

Hot off the press at @JHTRonline. Systematic review and meta-analysis looking at adverse cardiovascular outcomes after #tbi. Excellent work by a former brain injury fellow and @bhaskarstats.

Compared with the general population, people with TBI are:
1. 3x more likely to suffer cardiovascular-related mortality
2. 78% more likely to have any cardiovascular disease
3. ~40% more likely to have hypertension, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease
Come see us Friday at #nabis discussing our research on cardiovascular health after TBI.
@SpauldingRehab
After an excellent long week in Puerto Rico for the @AAPhysiatrists annual meeting (best one yet in my only slightly biased opinion), I'm happy to make it back to Boston before the Nor'Easter.
Today at 2 in room 103AB
Find us Friday at the @AAPhysiatrists annual meeting talking about our research on cardiovascular health after traumatic brain injury. An important yet underrecognized area for comprehensive care after TBI.
@SpauldingRehab
Great to see former @AAPhysiatrists RREMS student continuing work on autonomic nervous system changes after TBI!

After a few great days at the beach and rainforest, we've made it to San Juan for this week's @AAPhysiatrists annual meeting!
Happy to get to Puerto Rico a few days before the @AAPhysiatrists annual meeting. Spending a few days at the beach town Luquillo and got to see an excellent live rock band down the road last night
2025 was definitely surprising with a lot of unexpected, but very good, changes. Looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings!
Out now. Benefits of a transitional care clinic to prevent hospital readmissions following inpatient rehabilitation discharge. Great work by one of my former residents @carolinasrehab1

A new scoping review published in Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation explores how the Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS) is being applied across rehabilitation research and practice.
The review synthesizes current evidence, highlights key trends, and identifies opportunities for improving clarity in treatment specification to advance rehabilitation science, clinical communication, and reproducible research.
