Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Salauddin, an eyewitness to the fatal beating of journalist Naseem Ahmad, has recounted the incident, alleging that the violence began after a businessman refused to give an advertisement to the newspaper. According to Salauddin, Naseem, who worked for Hindi daily Dainik Janvani, had approached the businessman to seek an advertisement. When they began to leave after the refusal, they were allegedly stopped, accused of being fake journalists and beaten. Salauddin also said he was severely assaulted during the incident.
