It should not be underestimated the impact Isaac has had. One of the few openly gay active players across any male sport in Australia all while performing at the highest level.
He should be incredibly proud of his career - both on and off the court.
Isaac Humphries has retired.
He told ESPN about the injury, his attempt to keep playing, why this was the right call for the 36ers, and pride: “I'm proud of two NBA jerseys… playing for the national team, of being captain of a club… of making history.”

A fantastic read. Aussie will always be a Demon favourite - the impact he made in a short time was incredible.
But it’s more incredible to read of the impact he’s having back home. What a special person.
Austin Wonaeamirri became a @melbournefc cult figure almost overnight. Then family tragedy brought him home for good at 23. Now he is a revered leader in the NT. @AFLcomau went to the Tiwi Islands to discuss life, loss & why he spoke to @AlboMP recently.

Surely we can argue that missing finals would be bad for his mental health?
The Match Review Officer has handed down his ruling.

The fact this needs to be retweeted almost a year later is so completely disappointing.
Adelaide supporters know why they’re booing. There is no excuse.
Unfortunately the booing of Quaynor is proving the point of so many that believe the AFL is not ready for an openly gay player on the field.
Adelaide fans that are booing are saying so much more about themselves than they are about anything else.

Seeing Kane smile and talk about how proud he was of himself was such a joy to see.
An incredible brave thing to do - and I truly hope this is the beginning of a hugely positive chapter of Kane’s life.
Former NRL player Kane Evans has come out as gay in an emotional interview, revealing he spent almost 20 years fighting an internal battle with his sexuality.
The former Roosters, Eels, Warriors and Hull FC forward said he hoped speaking publicly would help others struggling with the same pain feel less alone.
Very sad to hear of the passing of Neale Daniher. What an incredible legacy he is leaving, both within footy and for all the work he has done with Fight MND.
The beast as won, he knew it would, but so many people who are diagnosed now have better prospects thanks to Neale.
My biggest issue is the AFL mentioning that the player “wasn’t offended” by Collard’s alleged comment.
This has now played out in the media for several weeks - it’s no longer about that individual player; it’s about every person who knows the word was used on an AFL field.
Senior AFL figures aren't happy (to put it lightly) with William Houghton KC, following his remarks at the appeals board hearing for Lance Collard last night.
There are high level meetings today to determine the next steps. Houghton is the Chair of the appeals board which downgraded Collard's sanction to four weeks.

Congratulations Leigh. A hugely brave thing to do, and something that will help generations of young gay kids.
A history-making moment ❤️🏳️🌈
Former Brisbane Lions player and SANFL champion Leigh Ryswyk has become the first past or present AFL player to come out as gay.

Finally got around to watching #WickedforGood.
The decision to shoe-horn the Girl in the Bubble song into that spot in the film could be one of the worst directorial choices I’ve seen.
Watching old episodes of Blue Heelers in an attempt to get the Heated Rivalry characters out of my head before bed
As a gay man who plays sport, Heated Rivalry hit so many of the right notes. Even now, when we’ve had so many professional athletes come out - and to positive reaction, that culture of fear and staying hidden still exists for so many.
It is brilliantly written and acted.
RT @nswpolice: There have been NO reports of any incidents at Dover Heights - please do NOT share unconfirmed rumours. Further updates will…
Honoured to have been awarded the 2025 UNSW Sport Pride Award.
There is still so much more to do, but I’d like to give a huge thank you to those who have supported & inspired me along the way - from mentors and peers, to the many athletes who continue to push for change.
