THIS IS THE GREATEST THREAD OF ALL TIME. Between my friend, who's a Braves fan, and me, a Mets fan. 😂

What a call, Matty V! "TO THE TOP OF THE CHOP!" 🔥🔥🔥

AJ Ewing’s rookie season 📊 .252 AVG
11 HR
43 RBI
25 SB
.700 OPS
110 H
55 R He also broke Mookie Wilson’s Mets rookie stolen base record with 25. Not a bad first season in Queens. 👀🍎 #LGM

LMAO All that regular season hard work for the ATL Braves just to lose in the WC to the mediocre Phillies! Life isn’t too bad. 🤣 #LGM

2026 is a season the Mets should probably remember. This isn’t just about a bad record. It’s about the decisions that got them here. The Mets let Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil walk away from a core that still had plenty of baseball left in it. They moved further away from the identity that had made this team competitive, only to watch the roster struggle to find one of its own. Pete Alonso had an MVP caliber season in Baltimore and made the Mets look even worse for letting him walk. Pete’s 300th career home run at Citi Field this season is an iconic moment in Mets history. The context of it mattered. Go ahead home run. The home crowd cheering. Chanting Pete’s name. Chanting for the POBO to be fired. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Nimmo leaving opened up room for Benge and Ewing, so can’t complain about that from a statistical standpoint. Jeff McNeil had a subpar season, although he unironically played better than Marcus Semien, who got paid $10 million more. The Mets paid $5 million of McNeil’s contract, too. The 2026 Mets struggled. Francisco Lindor battled through an uneven year. The pitching staff never found enough consistency. Injuries piled up. The front office made moves that raised more questions than answers. And yet, there were still reasons to believe in what comes next. Juan Soto showed why he can be the centerpiece of this franchise. Young players got opportunities. There are pieces worth building around. But 2026 should be a lesson. You can’t constantly tear down the identity of a team and expect the next version to automatically be better. Especially not when you fiddle with formulas. The Mets have work to do. And after this season, the questions aren’t just about who they need to add. They’re about who they should have never let go. #LGM

That’s a wrap on an incredibly disappointing season. We move on just as we have every other year. Hopefully next year is better. 2027 Mets… don’t fail us. #LGM

HONEST QUESTION Why does calling out one’s own sports team on a poor decision they made in the front office make someone a “fake” fan? Some Mets fans are okay with poor decisions made by the POBO and FO. Some aren’t. Why are the fans that aren’t okay with it “fake” fans? #LGM

Sneaky good counting stats year for Jeff McNeil. 👀 I know it was Semien for Nimmo, but comparing the former Mets 2B to the new one is pretty interesting… McNeil quietly redeemed a slow start. #LGM
