The Bar's Annual Memorial Service for the members of the Bar who have passed away in the last year will be held at the Supreme Court Building in Jackson October 13 at 2:00 p.m. and will also be livestreamed. Members of the Bar, as well as family and friends, are invited.
Thursday, 99 new lawyers were admitted to The Mississippi Bar in ceremonies taking place before the Mississippi Supreme Court. Bar officials spoke and judges from different courts administered oaths to the new admittees to swear them into the practice of law.
This week our Leadership Mississippi Bar Class of 2027 had its first meeting at the Bar Center in Jackson, hearing from Bar President Kelly Sessoms and taking part in leadership training. We’re excited to see what the class accomplishes in the coming months!
Each year the Bar reaches out to first-year law students to discuss the importance of professionalism and ethical behavior. In August, the 27th Annual James O. Dukes Professionalism Program was conducted at both Mississippi law schools.
