Here is my original story on Greg Abbott and Elon Musk's redacted emails.
This reporting came out last year, before I joined The @nytimes and was co-published with @propublica @texastribune: propublica.org/article/greg-… #txlege
Gov. Greg Abbott sued by opponent Gina Hinojosa over his communications with Elon Musk.
Last year, @lmcgaughy got redactions when she sought the records.
Rep. Hinojosa said she's entitled to them for #txlege purposes but Abbott won't release them.

People aren’t gonna like this but I think maybe it would be better for the socialist left if Khanna was the nominee. Lots of the same priorities but doesn’t muddy the name of socialism and make people compelled to defend woke drone strikes

Real, and here's the timeline: Meta froze the @nokingscoalition account around 1:30 this afternoon, no notice, no explanation. Back up by about 3:00 — so roughly 90 minutes dark, right in the middle of the day of action.
What I can't tell you honestly is *why*. Could be deliberate, could be a mass-reporting brigade by opponents tripping the automated system — that's a known tactic and Meta's bots are dumb enough to fall for it. Meta hasn't said a word either way, which is the part that stinks.

South Florida Sun Sentinel: Former congressional candidate Elijah Manley jailed on felony charges related to social media post
Elijah Manley was booked into the Broward County jail Friday on two counts of written or electronic threats to kill or injure.
Manley told WLRN on Thursday he expected to face charges related to a social media post he authored where he wrote, in support of Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon, that if people do not vote for her: “… I promise you I’m going to cut your f—— head off.”

Thank you to everyone who stood with me over the years. It’s been a scary journey but I have always been grounded in my work and ability to provide exemplary service to my constituents. Trump and his administration have been after me since I arrived in Congress. I have always stood up to him and that will never change. The pedophile protector will never silence me.
BREAKING WaPo:
Trump officials scrutinized Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2019. They didn't find citizenship issues.
The earlier review of Omar's immigration records looked at many of the same issues being investigated now. washingtonpost.com/national-…

This is huge news from Brazil. The courts have recognized Meta's nefarious efforts to suppress PT content and accelerate Bolsonaro's own, and ruled in Lula's favor with immediate effect: a model of algorithmic accountability to be applied anywhere.
A judge of Brazil’s top electoral court rules that Meta must adopt measures to immediately secure equal treatment of the two presidential candidates ahead of an Oct. 25 runoff. nbcnews.com/world/south-amer…

The empire's problem is that we have no fear. Kill us, and better replacements emerge. They are trapped in their own satanic plotting. We will not retreat. The Netanyahu–Trump genocide in Gaza must end.

The Israeli settler attack on Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine was aided and abetted by Israeli soldiers, and marks at least the seventh time that an American or European journalist has been attacked by Israel in the West Bank this year alone.
This brutality is a daily reality for Palestinians living under Israeli military rule.
Two weeks ago, 51 senators voted against requiring a report on Israel’s attacks against US citizens and its treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank. This is what they are endorsing
The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat @washingtonpost journalist Heidi Levine nearly to death. Then the IDF shot a Palestinian bystander, and aimed their guns and shoved the paramedics who were trying to treat him. All of this documented.
God what a horrible race. It's like MAGA versus Cuellar Jr

Heidi is going to be okay, but her injuries are significantly worse than initially thought. It appears that she may have been stabbed. She’s getting ready for surgery.

When Trump raided John Bolton last year it was met w/ immediate outrage in the opinion pages of NYT, WSJ, WaPo, Atlantic & New Yorker. Since Rep Omar was raided Mon––and subsquently threatened w/ deportation––these same outlets have been silent. I wrote about this double standard
Unlike the raid on John Bolton, the targeting of Omar has elicited zero condemnation from NYT, WSJ, and Washington Post. theintercept.com/2026/10/15/…

The thing abt the Gillis comments is they aren’t happening in a vacuum. WE ALL KNOW misogyny is getting worse & legislation + the stats on IPV back that up, so when you say things like “being upset abt this is why we lose elections” you are a collaborator as far as I’m concerned
