STEM for all! 🚀 What a privilege for The LAB22 to be invited to the SEND day event at Brooklands Museum. After a short tour of the museum, we were ready to run one of the three activities provided to the school groups. The LAB22 ran a short lesson on tension and how this connected to potential energy which is then converted to kinetic energy in catapults after which each child built their own catapult. The day for the children included a tour of the museum, a workshop to create a ‘catcher’ for the final activity and then a group activity to determine how to achieve a consistent arc and distance to aim ping pong balls into the catchers. Many smiles, happy squeals and learning objectives later, the children left after an informative and creative day.
