Honored to join the Small & Rural Law Enforcement Executives Association today to discuss how this FBI is expanding resources, training, and technology for the officers protecting rural and Tribal communities across America. We are expanding counter-UAS training through NCUTC with classes resuming August, adding 50 seats to our National Academy classes, and securing TFO designation authority so small and rural departments have access to the same force multipliers available in major cities. That commitment extends across Indian Country. We made Operation Steadfast Promise a year-long campaign to support approximately 4,100 open investigations, and we are investing in investigative genetic genealogy to solve cold cases in communities where vast distances and limited resources have left too many victims waiting for answers. The same approach is producing results nationwide. With President Trump’s leadership we secured the border, seized enough fentanyl to kill more than 230 million Americans, brought overdose deaths and murder rates down, and delivered a safe World Cup with zero major security incidents. We are also transforming how the FBI operates by expanding our AI use cases by 230% to help investigators rapidly sift through evidence, transcribe and translate audio, and work with the private sector to interdict threats. This is how we win: put resources where they are needed, give law enforcement the tools to act, and never allow geography to determine who receives justice.
