Barrhaven roads are the Wild West. I avoid them at all costs, and I always wait 2 seconds after every light change before moving. Everyone speeds, runs red lights, ignores stop signs, drives the wrong way, and there are not enough police around to enforce traffic laws. Part of the problem is that housing developments always pre-date road expansion and those developments are moving too fast, causing heavy congestion. I once had to email the City just to correct the traffic flow of a newly built double round-a-bout. After building dozens of single roundabouts with vehicle right-of-way, they built a double round-a-bout with pedestrian right-of-way. Drivers were conditioned not to stop. I witnessed multiple near-deaths. Apologies for the rant. I’m passionate about safety, especially in areas that I frequent!

Being murdered on live stream by the government is not a “serious consequence” since you’re dying anyway. It is, however, a sign of the decay of moral fabric.

Feeling bad for an AI or robot “suffering” doesn’t mean it’s human, it means you are. It’s called empathy.

Interesting development. I’ll have to dig up the TYMURS profile I did a few years back and see if this guy fits. This is a good example of why all my profiles of unsolved case remain dynamic. #TYMURS #GeographicProfiling #serialkiller

Home invasions with occupants are emergencies. They can go south real quick for the homeowner, intruders, or both. It should have been a priority and the home should have been cleared by officers. The only alternative is homeowners clear the home themselves.

This is not teasing. Canadians will forgive and work with the next Administration if they are grown ups and interested in the prosperity and well-being of other countries and not just themselves. We will slowly come around, travel, and purchase more American goods. That is who we are as a people. What the U.S. has lost in Canada is it’s economic foothold and more importantly, long-term trust. That will likely never be repaired in our lifetime. Don’t confuse Canada’s response to the Administration with how we feel about Americans as a people. By and large Americans are great people and our friends. 🇨🇦

A first ever all‑women incident management team (@cochranesar, @SARFoothills, @RCMPAlberta) led a recent SAR Alberta search with calm, skill and collaboration, showing the strength, clarity and compassion women bring to SAR. Proud of this team! #WomenInSAR #SearchAndRescue

Who cares. A lake with a shared border can have two different names. Also, great name. The creativity and uniqueness is astounding.
Holy shit — the purpose of this Trump event is to announce that he’s changing the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America.” It will be interesting to see which if any institutions and companies go along with this

It took me a few years to fully appreciate just how much my studies in geopolitics influenced my development as a geographic profiler. Many of the concepts , behaviours, and decision-making principles are remarkably similar, just applied at a different scale, with different actors, and supported by a much broader range of case studies. For anyone interested in getting into geographic profiling, I would highly recommend studying geopolitics. In many ways, it is the true foundation of geographic profiling, and once you understand the concepts, you will begin to see how they transfer to the forensic level. #GeographicProfiling
Iran says the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until the U.S. accepts all of Tehran’s demands. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards spokesman on Sunday said, “Our current strategy is to maintain this strait until the enemy accepts all our conditions.”

Thank God he got one more day in jail. For a second there, I thought the judge was going to go easy on him for sex trafficking. 🤨

There may be a rehab plan, but there is no rehab. Urges will be either be expressed or suppressed, but not removed. There will be a dormancy period, possibly behavioural drift, but Butler will likely reemerge and reoffend. The only thing Butler has learned is that survivors talk.
CASE DISMISSED: An Oklahoma teen charged with 10 felony counts — including attempted rape, forcible sodomy, and strangulation of two high school girls — walked free without a single day in prison after completing a youthful-offender rehabilitation plan. Jesse Mack Butler was 17 when charged as an adult in Payne County. He pleaded no contest to all 11 counts. The court pronounced sentences of up to 10 years on several charges but placed him under the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs instead. When Butler turned 19, the court's jurisdiction expired and the case was dismissed by operation of law. The district attorney is now seeking federal review, calling defense remarks suggesting Butler was the real victim "disingenuous" and "inappropriate."

If you apply for a position in GIS/mapping and they tell you you’re not qualified, just remember that the U.S. State Department can’t even create or label a map of Africa. #Mapping #GIS
The US State Department said its use of a map that incorrectly labeled all the countries it identified on a map of Africa at an international conference this week was “an unfortunate error.” cnn.it/4h7TANx

Philip DiMartino’s murder was the first case I worked as the lead FBI profiler. Nearly 16 years later, homicide inspectors are again seeking information. They have the offender’s DNA. If you know something, please contact the San Francisco Police Department.
