Absolutely gutted to hear about the passing of Ozzy. Both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne band are more of an influence on my singing, lyrics, songwriting, guitar playing than words can even speak.
I love you Ozzy. Rest in power to the greatest to ever do it 💔💔💔

Who was the greatest artist of the 20th century?
People talk about Picasso and Dalí, but here's a name you probably haven't heard: Hasui Kawase, the last master of Japanese ukiyo-e.
It sounds oddly specific, but no other artist in history was so good at depicting the weather...

On this day 2,346 years ago Alexander the Great died in Babylon after a night of heavy drinking.
But what made him so great? And why was he mentioned in both the Bible and the Quran?
This is the story of the man who conquered the world before he was 30 years old...

[Thread] I’ve noticed something odd happening in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. True, there’s plenty of odd things going on in The Shining, but this is really weird.

When I was a child, they let us out of the classroom twice a day as I recall. It was a long time ago. It was the olden days: the eighties. The *nineteen* eighties.
I do remember one recess game that was popular. It was called “smear the queer.”

What if we could:
• Sequester CO2
• Create more life
• Reclaim huge pastures and turn them back into forests
• Increase healthy food production
• Grow the economy
• And make money along the way?
How? By filling ocean deserts with life:

A FOOLISH PROPOSAL
(link after thread to avoid algorithm throttling)
Yesterday I made a proposal. It was probably very foolish. I admit as much.
Before I show it to you, I’d like to give you a couple scenarios.

ALT A Civil-War era political cartoon. Two figures contend pull on opposite sides of a map of the United States that is beginning to tear. On the right, Jefferson Davis offers the extreme, extremist (and false) position “No peace without separation!” On the left, Abe Lincoln offers the extreme (and accurate) position “No peace without abolition!” In the middle, Lincoln’s opponent, the pro-appeasement presidential aspirant General McClellan suggests the non-extreme, but extremist, centrist position “The Union must be preserved at all hazards!”

He has influenced everybody from HP Lovecraft to George Lucas and Tim Burton to Peter Jackson.

The celestial entrance known as 'Heaven's Gate' located within the breathtaking Tianmen Mountain in China.
Situated approximately 5,000 feet above sea level, Tianmen Cave in China stands as the world's highest naturally formed arch.
Accessing this remarkable landmark involves ascending 999 steps referred to as the "stairway to heaven," where the number nine holds significant meaning in Chinese numerology, symbolizing good fortune and eternity.
Alternatively, visitors can opt for a bus ride along a narrow roadway. With dimensions reaching about 430 feet in height and 190 feet in width, the cave was once an ordinary cavern. However, in 263 A.D., a section of the mountain's cliff collapsed, giving rise to the captivating appearance of a "portal to heaven" that mesmerizes observers to this day.
