The Freeskate

MEN! you didn’t disappoint. I think that’s the highest scoring top 6 in a short program in any Grand Prix ever.. that’s a very unchecked fact lol. That robot program from Vlad is one of the most creative I’ve ever seen. And Kao..wtffffff absolutely brilliant. HE TAPPED IN! #GPCHN

Davis/Smolkin 🇬🇪 a brilliant tango RD. It’s so impressive how much they have improved. Great speed and quick feet, fast creative lifts, well done. Smart/Dieck 🇪🇸 unfortunate for opening element mistake but man that program is insanely creative, I’m kinda obsessed with it #GPCHN

Wow..that ice dance RD was fantastic. The last group showed so many different styles that were just so so different from each other. Absolutely loved the Taschlers 🇨🇿 what an incredible character set they played. So powerful too, gorgeous blue costumes too. IMO underscored #GPCHN

The 🇨🇦 team looks like they have improved a bit overall from last year..few mistakes but not certain on that music choice for them. It’s very junior looking on them and doesn’t show their strengths. They gunna have to up their tempo ten fold to keep up with it. #GPCHN

Mishina/Galliamov look okay. Lost some speed and flow towards the end. If someone lost some chances to improve due to the Russian ban, I feel it’s them. Will be interesting freee skate but they do have a large lead thanks to the mistakes of Metelkina/Berulava #GPCHN

Pairs short program #GPCHN #COC2026 bit of a shocker with scoring. 🇬🇪 team sits 2nd with a very low score for their standards at 67.06. An error on twist, strange one foot take off left some unbalance and a near fall on the twist and their fwd inside death spiral received no mark

#GPCHN first #GPFigure since 2021 for 2022 Olympic silver medalists Alexandra Ignatova! Podium contenders also include Lara Naki Gutmann 🇮🇹 , Rinka Watanabe and 2025 world silver & 2026 with rod bronze medalist Mone Chiba of 🇯🇵 and 2023 European Champion, Anastasia Gubanova 🇬🇪

Cup of China is coming up! Very interesting event. Both singles disciplines have a wealth of podium potentials including for men, the Olympic champion who looks to rebound after a disastrous opening Grand Prix! Literally 8 men could be on the podium #COC2026 #GPFigure

I don’t know why but Fear/Gibson 🇬🇧 surprised me how good they look. That rhythm dance just hits! Really well done. I think they had the right amount of reckless abandon. It was just chaotic enough to keep you on edge of your toes. So fast, twizzles great finally too #SCI26

Holyyy. Green/Parsons 🇺🇸 look GREAT. That is one of the best skates I’ve seen them so ever. So quick, a few levels to gain here and there so points are not maxed out by any means. I’m just very impressed. #SCI26 I thought they deserved more points imo.

Still catching up.. Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac 🇨🇦 rhythm dance is just choreographed brilliantly. To keep that character in so many technical elements is very underrated. Very entertaining. Seriously give them 9s for presentation. #SCI26

that mens free was..unexpected as usual.Gogolev 🇨🇦moves all the way up to 4th place from 11th. Kevin Aymoz 🇫🇷 has won Skate Canada International! No one was perfect today.Kevin’s sensational emotion and skating with his high PCS won this for him. Nakata 🇯🇵 too many errors. #SCI26

We resume watching #SCI26 today after prepping and doing Halloween yesterday. It was sensational. I’m Not sure if there’s another street in Canada that has this. Weather was AMAZING too. What a great night #Halloween this is Niverville, Manitoba

VERY impressed w Ava and Yoni. Excellent Grand Prix debut. Their improvements are significant! Well done! #SCI26 Lia and Trent, just freaking awesome. Fantastic score over 77. Efimova and Mitrofanov IMO.. very over scored. I need to watch again. I thought K/E may of beat them

On the bright side.. Gogolev is only a big quad sequence and a bit of menning away from an Adam Saio Him Fa level comeback to the podium #SCI26

Really great short program by Kevin Aymoz 🇫🇷 not perfect but a very strong score. Big components. I really like the pirate program. Over 90pts ! 2nd place! #SCI26

Rio Nakata 🇯🇵 sensational jumps.. fun good skater.. def a future star! Too excited on the spin.. goes to a base level lol. 🤦‍♂️ #SCI26
