Last Wednesday, the CTO came to me and said "I hear you're the guy that creates #PowerApps. I need an app for ppl to schedule our corporate ski passes, and I need it by Friday." Things to note: the CTO has a FT dev team, I don't report to him, I have a FT job that isn't apps. 1/

It's been a GREAT project. Quite the puzzle, and the solution has provided immense value. I've loved it!
It should! I can generate a Power Apps link and a SharePoint link to the same form. Guests can access one but not the other. Can pass parameters to the Power Apps link--not to the SharePoint link (except for pre-determined ID, env, source... but only ID is readable in the form)

Yes, multi-stage processes where the item is submitted, information is modified or added, final changes by the submitter, etc... Multiple files for each item, people lookups, etc... very complex.
Should have been a Power Pages project but no stomach for license costs 😅

Can't use the Power Apps link for guest users though😱 My latest project has sent me down the rabbit hole of SharePoint forms customized in Power Apps for external/guest users. Such nuances!!
My first step was using an extension to hide twitter's trending topics, but I need to tweak the things I can control even more.
Ryan Smith: So, did you get my suggested changes to the jerseys?
Marketing: Oh yes, we went with your mock up!
RS: Mock up? All I did was highlight all the stuff I wanted changed with my yellow highlighter.
Marketing:
🤔Want to change the navigation behavior of that pesky "Cancel" button on a SharePoint form? It will send users to your "All Items" view. every. time.
🤯It's super easy to do, you just have to know this one trick!

The "create from image" was very un-impressive. It seems like you'd spend as much time or more trying to finesse the output than creating from scratch.
But wow 🤩🤩🤩 the Figma integration could be quite a time saver!!

Desk, room and car park booking solution in progress. Floating SVG's for a little bit of animation and you can see where someone is sitting too in case you don't want to sit next to a colleague you don't like🤣 #powerplatform #canvasapps #powerapps

Great job on the write-up! I really wish there was a better way to do this than writing to an external log and running a timer to keep checking the log.
