The hardest client I've ever had is myself. Ha.
Three redesigns.
None of them landed.
I may have figured it out.
"Who will take care of me when I'm older?"
Childfree Trust needed a brand that answered this with reassurance, not legal jargon.
We started with strategy and The Beloved Archetype.
Then built a visual identity that feels caring yet confident.
Logo. Colors. Typography. System.
I was definitely influenced by @AlexAperios on this @jittervideo
Thanks, Alex!
“You’re just a logo guy, right?”
Ouch. But fair.
I’m a strategist who finds what makes you different, then builds a brand around it.
Time to show that better.
Brand Bolder.
Still in love with this rebrand.
The first brand didn’t hit the mark.
Came to me for help.
Once we understood what made them different, the visuals became obvious.
New brand. New system. New site.
Strategy first.
Design second.

there are essays, and then there are "violently shift your entire perception of reality" essays
Cracker Barrel spent $700M on a rebrand.
The design wasn’t the problem.
The culture was.
In 2025, branding = look & feel.
If you're not ready for the reaction, you're not ready to rebrand.
Let’s crackle barrel this thing.
The city of Austin, Texas likely spent around $1,000,000 for this rebrand.
They hired the most famous agency in the world, Pentagram.
The only way agencies like Pentagram survive is if there's enough braindead clients willing to place prestige above results.

Believe it or not.
In my process, I spend the least time designing logos.
Strategy does the heavy lifting.
By the time I finish discovery, the logo designs itself.

Hey Design World,
I want to gift a designer @AlexCristache gradient haiku.
Alex, though I believe everyone knows him, is the master of creating color palettes.
This is a thank you to his @MindfulMotif posts.
Comment “color” for your chance to win.
